Alistair's Letters

Image
50th of Ymiden
Dear Alistair,

Apologies for not writing back to you sooner after our last meeting. I spent most of the time between now and then on a ship bound for Scalvoris. Recent events there caught my attention and I am going to be getting involved in the government here, though that is not the sole reason I am traveling to Scalvoris. Two of my friends, a woman named Faith Nardovino and a man named Padraig Augustin, are getting married in Vhalar and I am going to be officiating their wedding. So I am staying with them for the moment, though I'll be seeking permanent housing of my own before long.

In regards to your last prank, be glad Phelan didn't take offense to that one. He is, after all, rather large. He knew I was safe though, and so you were spared mauling by wolf. I did appreciate the shortcut, however, and the return journey was quite pleasant, so I do thank you for that. That being said, I am most interested in learning Rupturing if you are willing to teach me.

If you wish to write me, or visit, I included Faith's mailing address, and I'll give you my own when I find a more permanent residence. Or build one, I suppose. Either way would work nicely for me. Looking forward to our next meeting.

Sincerely yours,
Kura Wolfsdotter

Alistair's Letters

Alistair,

I know its probably strange that I've written but I think I might've mentioned I'd keep you posted, in regards to my new 'condition' that I'm currently living with. Honestly... I've no clue who I can trust with this sort of shit, its bad enough I'm looking over my shoulder all the time now. It feels like there's something always there you know, a monster you can't see but is obviously right behind you. By the time you receive this letter I might have... Forget it. I'll be fine somehow.

What I wanted to do really was ask if you might be able to do me a favor or two, their difficulty depending on the kind of leverage you can pull honestly. First I would like to know any information you have on Syroa, from where she could've last been seen to anything useful about her. Whatever you can find helps. Second... If its at all possible, I need something that can help contain this 'thing' that haunts me now. I've slowly adapted to living with the conditions its forced onto me, but I can't easily rest knowing that I'm a danger to everyone around me.

Again anything you find out can be of use, I'll try to keep you posted on things as they come. Guess until then I'll just keep a low profile, try and see what sort of dirt I can dig up myself before we meet again. Let me know if you need anything looked into, especially here within Rharne, as I'm pulling a few strings and making a few new 'friends' along the way.

Sincerely,
P

Alistair's Letters

Ymiden 80, Arc 717

Dear Alistair,

Tamlen is doing well, and he gave me a lot of useful advice. I’ve also hired a man to help me improve the security of my new estate. His name is Sintih. He is an Eidisi and looks like he’s blind, but he isn't really, and he once worked for the Iron Hand. Atolini and he are getting along extremely well (she’s living in Oakleigh now, in case you don’t know yet).

I noticed that Aunt Willow and Uncle Kaleb weren’t very good parents to your siblings and you. In fact, they were pretty bad parents. I suppose I was lucky with my parents. They were nice most of the time, and they are pretty good at what they do.

When you mentioned that you would need me one trial in your last letter, I expected something totally different to be honest, but this here … this here is something that I can and will help you with.

I don’t understand why you are giving your inheritance up though. Once people find out what your parents were like, they will understand that you aren’t doing it for power. I wouldn’t give Venora up. Besides, who will become Duke when Aunt Willow and Uncle Kaleb are gone? Will we get a Duke Andráska? Not that he would be a bad duke, but still …

How will this affect the future of Venora?

Yours,

Tristan

Alistair's Letters

Sent: Ymiden 83rd Arc 717
Delivered 1st Saun Arc 717

My good friend Alistair,

I am glad to have been informed of this, the more I know the better prepared I can be for the future. I only wish that I could have been of help to you in this, unfortunately I know little of David Krome and even less of your childhood within Venora. I do, however, know the cruelty of parents and especially that of fathers. For that reason I offer you all that I can, my support and belief in you to overcome this barrier. You are a powerful man Alistair and you are one who is right to bring this justice for your sister and your self. Myself and Celeste send you all the luck we can in this endeavour and we wish you the best. If you would like me to attend the trial all you need do is ask and I will testify to your position as an honest and just man, my new position will grant me some sway with the people of Andaris now as well as Krome. I will be both a Wolf and a Dragon soon and with that my position and image is changing.

Your pursuit is a noble one and I wish you all the best in it, as both an ally and a caring friend. Your future is bright and you will prevail one day I am sure.

I was always told to leave someone with good news and as that is the case you are of course invited to attend my wedding, in fact I implore you to do so. If you were not to be there I would be most disappointed so I do hope you will be able to show your face even if only for a few breaks. You are also welcome to bring any partners you may currently have, I know that is difficult with your preferences but of course you know I am not a judgemental man of that.

I wish you well Alistair and I give you my luck in the trials to come, you might need it.

Your friend,

Lord Xander Krome, Marshal of Astedia

Alistair's Letters

To Whom It May Concern,

The item you've requested to have delivered to Ne'haer, Kaelserad has been lost due to an unexpected attack on the merchant parties while in transit to the city. Much of the cargo was stolen and the rest, damaged by fight and fire. Please respond to our Merchants Guild with the value of the item and we will attempt to reimburse you.

Our sincerest apologies,
The Merchants Guild

Alistair's Letters

The Merchants Guild,

In response to the previously received letter, I would like to request both five hundred gold nels - the value of the item - and additionally, an Imedyte-quality well, as the well was imbued into the Sundial as a part of the structure. I am afraid that I cannot place a clear nel value on an Imedyte well, as it is an object uncertain commodity. Please send the gold and the stone to Kaelserad in lieu of the Sundial. My partner, Kleine Volgotha, will pick up the received items.

Thank you,
Alistair var Radomir

Cylus 15th Arc 717

Dear Alistair

It is so cold here and dark. We are all huddled around the fire and wrapped up in furs.

There is four of us. Me and Calvin and Sheila and Mary. Calvin is Sheilas husband and Marys Father.

Mary turned eight just before Cylus came and I spent the day carrying her places. It was cold but she had a lot of fun so I did not mind.

My writing is getting really good Calvin says. I hope you get to read these letters some trial.

I havent been able to go looking for our kid too far because it gets cold so fast, but Im not giving up.

I hope youre okay Alistair

I miss you so much my Kindal

-Fridgar

Ashan 86th Arc 718

Dear Alistair,

I've left the farm now that the weather is survivable. The bandits came back, expecting us to be weak and hungry after the long Cylus, so I used my becoming and ended up trampling a few, the rest ran off. Calvin and Sheila were a little surprised but were grateful in the end, Mary wanted a ride on my red bear form.

I spent the whole winter reading and writing, when I wasn't hunting for the family, that is. I think I'm writing pretty well now, I'm even talking more properly, I wish you could hear me. I'm headed south, for Etzos. I'm going to try asking around when i get there, but in the form of one of the bandits I trampled on the farm. I am a wanted man in Etzos, after all.

I haven't lost hope yet and still smile when I think of you. I love you, my Rose.

-Fridgar

Ymiden 1st Arc 718

Dear Alistair

It's almost been a whole arc since I last saw you, but I still remember every detail of you. You're there when I close my eyes, laying beside me, wrapped in my arms in our bed in Uthaldria.

I miss holding you, kissing you. I miss waking up to your scent and spending the day in your clinic, even if I was pretty bad at being a doctor. I never thought I'd end up wanting a domestic life before I met you, but now it's all I can think of, all that keeps me going. The promise that I can one day meet you again with our son in my arms is worth every step I've taken on this journey.

I still don't understand why I can't sense your spark anymore, but I know you're alive. Call it my instinct or the bond we share as Kindal and Havendal, I know you're out there somewhere And I wish more than anything that I knew where you were.

I'm in Etzos now and I'm asking questions, eye witnesses. It's difficult if I'm honest, it's hard to find anyone that even knew the woman you killed, let alone someone that might have an idea of where she might have hid our son.

I'm still trying, disguised as someone long dead from the north.

I love you, Alistair, we'll meet again be it this arc or the next.

-Fridgar

Saun 40th Arc 718

My Rose,

Our son lives.

It's either the heat of saun or the liquor of the tavern that I have to thank for the information I squeezed from one of the dead cunt's friends, but she apparently sold our son into slavery. I followed up this claim to the slave auction house. I had to use Rupturing and becoming to stealthily go through the records, but I discovered the house that he stays at now. I've scouted the house a hundred times and know my way around like the back of my hand.

Tonight, I'm getting our son back. I'll burn this whole damn city to the ground if I have to, I've been waiting for this for more than an arc now. I'll write to you again when I have him safe.

I love you, you're next on my list.

-Fridgar

Vhalar 5th Arc 718

It's done. I have our son and I've fled the city of Etzos. I'm on my way back to Gauthrel now, changing form every so often so that no one can track me by my footprints.

Our son is a real fighter, I could feel his punches through my red bear hide believe it or not. He's going to grow up to be an Immortal Ass Kicker, I just know it. To no one's surprise, he looks a lot like me. I'd wished in the back of my head that he looked like you with your blonde hair and blue vortex eyes... Now that I write that, I'm somewhat glad I'm getting our son back without any mutations. I don't know what they bought him for but he doesn't have a scratch on him, his skin is flawless and he appears well fed, if not a little on the skinny side.

I'm going to take good care raising him, feeding him properly in the homeland of the Lotharro, in our home. I'll write to you again when I get there.

I wish you were here, I love you, Alistair.

-Fridgar

Zi'da 12th 718

Alistair,

It was a long walk with many unexpected challenges... Like trying to feed a baby with things you find in a forest. I never realized just how much I take my teeth for granted. I'm finally here in Uthaldria at our home, it needs a little tender loving care and some fixing up, but it will be fine for the winter. The Jeger are mad that I disappeared for so long but I'm fine to get back to work in a few trials. I know you wanted to give him a human-like name, but I don't want him to be bullied by the other Lotharen kids. So, I've elected to name him 'Bellator', a good strong name for our good strong boy!

In truth, I don't know where you are or how I'll ever find you. I doubt you stay in one place too long and I'm not that good at rupturing... I know I said I was coming to find you next, but I can't drag our son all over the world on a hunt for the world's most elusive human, no matter how much I love him. So, I'll wait here with Bellator in case you ever come back... And if you don't, well... I'll come and find you in our next lives and make up for all the lost time with a hundred arcs worth of kisses.

I love you, Alistair.

Until next we meet, enjoy yourself.
