For the moment, it seemed that the spark was held at bay, having taken a small victory from its 'mother'. Qit'ria was granted a small reprieve, opening her eyes to see a confusing situation. The red-headed woman was staring at her with complete fear in her eyes, and Qit'ria had yet to realize why. She must be a weak willed woman to be so frightened of birth. Qit'ria had been there for all of her sisters' conceptions and there for their births. It wasn't that scary, and her mom screamed and fought just as much as Qit did.

The Avriel was at her right side, helping her to breathe, and Qit obliged.. And it did seem to make her feel a bit better. The bird wiped away the sweat from her brow and helped the red-head. Another massive contraction tore through Qit'ria and her hand lashed out, grabbing onto Noah's. Her grip was iron as she squeezed through a second contraction that came so much quicker than the last. Things were happening fast. Using her free hand, Qit'ria quickly undid the knots of her blouse and loincloth, throwing them across the room, baring all to the unfortunate people in the hut.

And then she realized he was here. Enrick. She wanted to be cold to him, to distance herself from him as she had been doing since they left Scalvoris. To not let him become part of her family that always resulted in other people dying. It was to protect him. But in this moment, she was selfish, and when her eyes finally found his, she smiled. A little bit. Until she really looked at his face. He was scared too. His eyes were black. He was scared, of her. Not for her. Of her. And then the fear slipped back to his normal stupid face. And Qit's fleeting smile left with it. When he offered a hand, she reached out and grabbed his forearm instead, just holding onto it for support.

And in that moment, her spark tried again. It lunged for her soul, and Qit'ria's body clenched as she spiritually buckled down, which resulted in her face clenched shut, crushing Noah's hand, and her nails digging into Enrick's forearm. The magic her spark pulled from her soul was being distributed, but Qit fought to contain it, keep it from spreading . It was a tug of war for control. As she was fighting, she heard a voice in her head, one she knew no one else could hear. It was Kashehino.

"Pick where to let it out, stop fighting it... lose the battle, win the war darling..."

And Qit realized what she meant immediately. Keep it away from the baby. She let the spark wrestle the magic from her, but kept it hemmed in. It ran with the magic, sending down through her left arm. And she cut it off there, keeping it contained. And the mutation formed. Her nails, the same nails that were already in Enrick's flesh, grew longer and sharper, digging further into him. If they could be seen, they'd now be orangebrown in hue, and made of a much stronger substance than fingernail. But as the mutation continued to finish, it began to pump the venom from the nails slowly into Enrick's arm.

The venom wouldn't be noticed right away, but the longer the nails were in him, the more that was pumped into his system. Soon, breathing would become difficult, as this Gasping Skitterer venom forced Enrick's lungs to fill with liquid from his own body. Her spark, satisfied that it got what it wanted returned to its perch on her soul, pleased with itself.

And another contraction forced through Qit'ria, and another bear's roar escaped her maw. This time it lasted longer than the rest. And that was when her father spoke up. "Well, looks like it's time. That child is about to come out. Get ready Rose, you can do this." Qit'ria shifted, for it felt more natural, sitting up, but not letting go of either arm she held. And she returned to focusing on her breathing, and responded to her body's desire to push.

And so she did. She could feel her daughter within her shifting, moving lower. Qit was no longer roaring, but gritting her teeth and fangs, now staring daggers at Rose. Her breaths were shallow and menacing, but it was nice to have something to focus on. But this process going slow for the woman now, as the baby barely moved along. Fleck'ack leaned in behind Rose and whispered in her ear, "Tell her to push, and get in close."

After several bits of pushing and grunting and breathing and squeezing, the child's head could be seen. Grey, downy feather's adorned it's crown as it worked its way out. It's skin was dark, much darker than Qit'ria's own, with a bit of a sheen to it, near black. It shifted a bit, twisting and soon it's shoulders and body were coming out much faster than the head did. Fleck'ack leaned down next to Rose, "Keep pushing Qitten, gotta get the afterbirth out too." And so she did.

The baby was alive, and squirming, but not yet crying. Fleck'ack pulled out a nice and showed Rose how to go about removing the umbilical cord, then handed it to her to perform. He then pinched the baby's ear a bit hard, and soon, its cries filled the room. And Qit's heart soared, and she smiled. She dropped her holds on Enrick and Noah, and relaxed, slipping down in her seat a bit. She hurt all over, but strangely found it not so bad. Becoming hurt so much worse than childbirth.

Fleck'ack helped provide the supplies to clean the child, and then looked Rose in the eyes, "Tell her what it is, then hand it to her, doctor."

Everything about this moment was utterly and completely insane. The pregnant woman had stripped down, which really was not terribly unusual for a birth but she was also roaring like a particularly ornery bear. Rose’s tanned fingers trembled as she gently wiped down the scratch marks on Qit’ria’s legs with rags soaked in cool water. Thankfully the bleeding had stopped and the wounds seemed to have stabilized well enough. Now came the difficult matter of the birth itself.

The healer blindly placed her hands on the Sev’ryn’s stomach, feeling around the woman’s pelvic bone to figure out where the baby was in its trip down into the birth canal. She was a bit startled to feel how low it was, this was all happening quickly and it wouldn’t be long before the infant was crowning.

So Rose worked ceaselessly, and bless Fleck’ack for preparing so well. The man had prepared a seemingly endless supply of rags and containers of clean water for the occasion. She kept the woman as clean as possible during the process to try and eliminate the possibility of sickness later. All the while she prompted Qit to keep breathing and to engage in shallow breaths. Deeper breathing seemed to cause more strain on birth canal and Rose wanted to try and prevent any painful tearing.

“Shallow breaths.” She said while breathing shallowly herself with Qit to help her keep pace and not hyperventilate.

All the while Rose was attempting not to look too hard at the bear fangs now poking from under Qit’s lips. Rose stopped only briefly to get up and retrieve the chamomile and mint tea that she had asked Noah to start steeping. Tossing a spoonful of honey into the mug she stirred together the steaming herbal mixture during a brief lull in the labor before offering it to the Sev’ryn woman. If she cared to drink it then she could, if not then it was no skin off Rose’s back. But it might help relax her and stave off any sickness of the stomach after the birth.

Finally the baby started to crown as Rose scooched in close at Fleck’ack’s instruction. A swathe of dark feathers could be seen on the head of the infant, confirming that the father was likely one of Noah’s race. It was certainly a rarity to see another Avriel in Desnind but after to-trial Rose wasn’t surprised by anything. After more pushing and brutal contractions the baby was out and Fleck’ack helped show Rose how to cut the umbilical cord. In a mild panic the doctor began cleaning the infant at the older healer’s careful instruction with shaking hands.

“Well that was certainly not something you get to do every trial.” Rose uttered with a trembling voice and a half-hearted laugh as she began swaddling the baby in a waiting blanket. Standing to her feet she cradled the baby in her arms and moved over toward Qit’ria’s side. She looked at the woman’s tanned face with the strange bear fangs and just raised her eye brows in amazement at what had just happened.

“Mänyän kaabo” The healer said in broken Xanthean before placing the child in Qit’ria’s arms.

Rose took one look down at her previously crisp clean green dress and glumly regarded the streaks of brown and red bodily fluids staining it.

Drat...

Just as things started to calm down, Rose tilted her head up to look at the other people crowding the room and noticed the scratch marks adorning the arm of the man across from her. His skin was a touch pale and the scratches looked a little enflamed…almost like they were laced with an irritant or, poison.

“Sir, are you alright?” she asked hesitantly with a subtle frown.

The Harbinger Arrives (Open)

Despite the crazy scene unfolding around her, Noah held her ground. Giving very little thought to the sound of other people entering the hut. Perhaps they were family? Besides Rose hadn't made any objections about them being there so everything was presumed to be fine. So the Avriel went on tending to Qit. "It's alright and you're doing so well. Rose and I are doing our very best to help you. We won't let anything bad happen to you. So don't worry, I'll be right here at your side." Noah smiled continuing to help with the wounds the expectant mother had sustained and despite having very bird-like talons was able to lay bandages and bind them with ease.

She continued on with her midwife work, offering the mother some of the brewed tea in small sips every so often, wiping the sweat on her brow with a cold damp cloth, and making sure along with Rose that she stayed clean as possible to prevent any sickness or infection all while speaking to her in Lorien, "You will be just fine Momma Bear. Just fine." While her job was nothing compared to Rose's, Noah took her job with all seriousness aiding the mother in anyway she could and keeping her comfortable and calm. As she wiped the woman's forehead once more with caring eyes a man came to stand beside the woman. Noah looked up at him, slowly looking him over. Deeming it alright to for him to be there as Rose hadn't said anything. The Avriel picked up a second cloth dunking it in the cool clear water, she wrung it out and handed it to the man. "Be gentle..." she cooed, before she resumed caring for the woman.

Noah was just about to wet the cloth again when the laboring woman took grip over her free hand. The Avriel winced and her wings suddenly opened halfway. If this woman needed her hand for support she would gladly give it to her, even if her grip was crushing her own hand. Noah would endure. Clenching her teeth, pain was written on the Avriel's face although she made no noise of pain, a soft melodic cooing began. Her wings trembled betraying how much pain she felt. But no scream, no whimper. This pain was nothing she told herself. Nothing compared to what her father could of done. In her mind she watched the horrid scenes again and again. This pain was nothing.

Somewhere beyond her eyes screwed shut the older man spoke. It was time, the last little stretch. Noah returned to telling the woman to breathe. It took some time but finaly the grip on her hand lessed and opening her eyes, she saw it the birth. A small being coming to be, freed from it's mother, a new life. Noah held her breath until she saw it squirm. But the child itself had not yet taken it's first breath... The older man came to aid Rose and soon cries rang out.

They had done it. No, that wasn't fair to say... Rose had done it! Once the baby was given to her mother, Noah hugged Rose. "Rose did it! You did it! Noah knew! Knew you could!" She returned to the mother's side she wished to see the little one who had caused so much. Happily looking at it she found an unexpected surprise. "A-Avriel? Cazryn??? Cazryn?" Of course she knew this word by heart, 'bird'. Looking to the older man she informed him, "Cazryn..." Just in case he somehow didn't know.

Suddenly the celestial bodies of the universe must have aligned because for the first time, practically the only time, Enrick saw a brief hint of warmth in the features of Qit's face. For she had smiled when he made his presence known to her, and even though it was only brief it still meant a great deal. All that time spent pushing him away and being cold to him, and here he was now still ready to be by her side in the hour of need. Naturally he was scared just as much as everyone else here was, maybe if not a little more, because of the unnatural changes her body tried to undergo. But he wasn't turning away when the child he fathered was about to come into the world.

Enrick felt her iron grip clasp around his forearm instead and for the most part he remained indifferent, however imagine his surprise when he felt the intensity of her grip over the skin. Immediately the tanned complexion started to saturate a little from the pressure, but beyond that he hardly did anything besides barely wince at her hard grip. When the nails started to press into his skin however the wince became more prominent, and soft groan was slowly exhaled through his nose as he bore against the immediate pain. Damn she was rough. Rougher than when the two made this child together...

Suddenly he felt something very wrong happen however, and he could visibly see the changes while she held his arm. Her fingernails turned in to unusual orange-brownish hues, as they grew longer and sharper the more they dug into his skin. Suddenly his groans were more elongated and muffled, kept contain inside his throat as he clenched his jaw and exhaled heavily through the nostrils. After feeling the nails prick into the flesh of his arm, a burning sensation slowly filled the area while silver started to trickle down his arm. The hues of his eyes immediately lightened up to a milky orange color, signifying hurt and discomfort prominently displayed in his features as he took the pain.

Well... tried too. He might as well have broken a few of his back teeth from grinding them so hard, needless to say he was bleeding now and though it hurt to endure; he felt it justified for what he pretty much put Qit through. Gods... if this was what giving birth was like for every woman... he may have wanted to reconsider his idea with starting a family someday. Oh wait. Too late now! Then came the time for Qit to begin pushing and when she did, Enrick once more clenched his jaw as he felt the nails dig in a little more. He swore to the highest heavens that he definitely wouldn't be eager to make a second child again, as he didn't think he'd ever be ready to deal with another pair of extremely sharp nails mauling his arm off. Not for a long time at least.

And then finally after the series of pushes came to pass, Qit'ria released her hold on him and the other avriel next to her; immensely relaxed as the child was at last brought out into the world. Holy... That's... That's... His eyes were practically a swirling kaleidoscope at the moment; green with the combination of bronze and black decorated his irides, but as he looked upon the child that had been born silver also became more prominent. He could've swore he felt his lungs tightening up with the rest of his body, since both his heart and his stomach were feeling twisted in knots somehow. He expected immense joy and relief in seeing the baby at last however... suddenly he felt a great deal of uncertainty replace the whole mindset. Black feathers? Enrick had no way of creating a spawn with that sort of trait.

Qit seemed 'normal' enough when they were together, so how could something she gave birth to seem to be so different from what he expected? Black feathers, skin complexion darker than even the mother that created it? Enrick would've thought it a possible defect for whatever the hell possessed this woman, the magics warping the beautiful creature that came out of her as she fought for control. But no... Enrick could see it plainly as there were already two, two, people here that were living proof of what this child was. Avriel-born. This child... His intended child wasn't his child... it was someone else's. His stomach felt as though it dropped inside his torso, and he slowly backed away from Qit and the child with his hand pressed over his forearm. Black and yellow seemed to swirl around his pupils as he looked at the two, and then somehow red and blue also shared their own portions in turn.

He was a walking embodiment of shame, filled with complex emotions over the revelation he just had. As the silver trickled down his forearm and hand, it felt harder to breathe somehow and he had to force himself to remember. To even try at best. When the other red-head there seemed to inquire if he was okay, he just stood there with eyes on Qit and the somehow beautiful baby girl that rested in her arms. Her baby girl... but not his. This whole time he'd been led under the impression they were both expecting a child... and now... Right now; he was a foolish man learning that this adorable yet unusual creature... wasn't eve his own spawn to begin with. "Oi need..." He seemed to choke as he wasn't aware he'd been steeped with venom, although his eyes dulled into a deep green resemblant of the sea.

Sweat seemed to cover his entire body suddenly, and he felt his mind race with incoherent thoughts as he wanted to leave. But he couldn't. "Oi need..." Air. He really needed air now. He backed into the wall behind him looking for support, as a look down at his bleeding forearm showed blued hues where the veins seemed inflamed. Was he poisoned by Qit now? What the hell was happening to him? He slowly slid down to sit against the wall, his eyes closed as he felt dizzy from the lack of oxygen in his brain.

Ellen couldn't miss the brief smile that graced Qit'ria's features when she caught sight of Enrick. It was like a kick to the stomach. The two of them, they had a strange relationship, but it was still a relationship nonetheless. The knife trembled in her hand and she ran the other through her hair, raking fingers through what wasn't braided out of her face. Everyone was huddled around her, encouraging, helpful--and then there was Ellen. She hovered in the corner, not sure what to do. There wasn't anything she could, really.

She'd never helped deliver a baby, and didn't have a very good feel for the delicacies required of the care of others. So she was left to simply watch, feeling helpless and out of the place. It didn't feel very advantageous, but what it did afford her was a view of Qit's next transformation. At first the redhead wasn't sure what she was seeing. Perhaps it was stress toying with her mind, or just a mix up with the commotion--but no... after a long moment she realizes that the woman's arm was indeed no longer her own. At the very least, not the way it had been a few bits ago.

"Dẹọdọ kọv Moseke's srer...?" she mumbled to herself, awed, confused, and even a little frightened.

Was something wrong with her? The woman didn't even seem to notice, or if she did she didn't care. And then she caught sight of the woman's face, as one of the others shifted out of the way. Ellen's mouth had gone dry, and she licked her lips, wiping the sweat from her chin with the back of her arm. That was going to be the least of her concerns, because when the baby finally arrived, what the half-breed saw was not what she expected. She had stayed out of the way as to not see the more personal parts of Qit'ria's anatomy, but had a good view when the red haired healer hoisted the newborn up. Her jaw dropped just a bit.

It wasn't by any means what she would consider human looking. While both Qit'ria and Enrick weren't technically human, they looked the part--at least more so than Ellen did, or the other creature by the new mother's side. Her features twisted in confusion. The skin was dark--very dark, nearly black--and it had what looked like... feathers on the crown of its little head. Based on appearances alone, Enrick was most definitely not the father. She looked at the man as the stranger's baby's cries filled the hut. He looked pale, and his face was unreadable. His eyes were a mess of colors, and when he stood he swayed. Shock?

"Hey--hey--hey!" she yelled, lurching forward as he began to collapse.

Ellen quickly sheathed her knife and grabbed Enrick as he slumped against the wall, wrapping her arms around his waist and grunting as his weight came down on her instead. She braced him up, knees bent, and put an arm around her shoulder. She breathed hard, wobbling with the awkward load. He was much taller than she was, and heavier than anything she was really used to carrying. She was strong, but the dead weight of a large man was something else entirely.

"Excuse me," she grunted, and as quickly as she could helped him out of the hut and into the open air.

Clumsily but with as much care as she could, she tried to lay him down on the grass, but as he sagged she stumbled and they both fell hard into the dirt.

Qit'ria was tired, so tired. But she refused to fall asleep, refused to give in. Her eyes were fluttering lightly as she looked at her father and the red haired woman, cleaning at the small, dark, crying form. She was alive. Qit couldn't be more relieved. Her daughter was alive, and she hoped was healthy and well. She willed her eyes to stay open, until she saw the child being carried over in the arms of the young doctor. As the little girl was handed to Qit, she locked eyes with the doctor, and smiled, nodding at the woman. There was no amount of thanks she could give her, but she would always protect this woman with her life. She knew it for a fact.

Qit'ria looked down at the little girl in her arms, and her face practically split in half from her smile. She was beautiful. There was soft grey feathers atop her head instead of hair, her skin nearly midnight black, with a tinge of blue. The girl no longer cried now that she was held by her mother, but rather looked up curiously at the woman who carried her. And her eyes were wide. Her father's eyes. They were exactly the same, crimson and brimming with strength. And she was the most beautiful creature in all of Idalos.

"Caz'aria."

And Qit leaned down, and kissed her child upon its brow, something her mother never once did.

"My blackbird."

She pulled Caza in close to her chest on instinct more than anything, and the greedy little girl instantly found her dark nipple, latching and began to feed for the first time. It wasn't painful, but it certainly was a strange feeling. Qit looked over at the white feathered Avriel who was prancing around like a crazy person, saying the Xanthean word for bird over and over. She smiled, and in Common, "Yes. Alvarialariel. Like father." Smiling at Noah, "Come look. Bird of heather, trick two feather." Qit'ria found herself protective of her child, of course, but more than anything, she was proud. Her daughter was healthy and strong and beautiful.

Qit'ria practically beamed by the firelight, exhausted, covered in sweat, but there was no one happier in Idalos in that moment. Qit'ria looked around the hut, wanting to show off her child to all of those involved, but Enrick and Ellen had left the hut. That was strange. She wasn't close with Ellen, but she was sure Enrick would want to meet her daughter. They'd traveled all this way together, after all. She wanted him to meet Caza. Why had he left?

Yeye came over, clasping Noah on the shoulder, in Common, "All of you did wonderfully. You should be proud. Though, Noah, I don't think I've seen an Avriel's wings puff out quite as often as yours," he said chuckling. Looking at Qit, "Caz'aria is a beautiful name. Blackbird. After her father?" Qit nodded, smiling a bit more softly at her father, "You grandpa."

"And you're a mother, my beautiful daughter."

He stepped away, looking to start cleaning up. Qit'ria looked out the hut door, and a bit weakly, "Enlick? Want meet my daughter?"

Re: The Harbinger Arrives (Open)

Details were no longer vivid as his senses were all a little fuzzy, the desperate need for air the only thing he knew for the moment. He didn't understand the nature of what seeped into his bloodstream, only that the shock of literally everything seemed to hit him harder than he anticipated. He felt his limbs weak and limp as someone seemed to attempt carrying him, and escorted him outside where the air would hopefully help restore the shuffled thoughts in his mind. It hardly did anything at first, his lungs squeezed and ached as they seemed to demand some kind of cleansing.

It was almost as though he were suffering from a congestion but only worse, the kind that literally drowned a man in his own coughs no matter how hard he hacked away; and hack he did. Enrick couldn't help the coughing spell that wracked his lungs, as there was even a wheeze to imply something deeply rooted clogged their valves. Moments that felt like an eon to him passed and finally when he seemed to slowly recuperate, Enrick realized that he wasn't in the hut anymore but elsewhere now. Light filtered from above seeped into his eyelids as he slowly stirred, as he began to recognize the shapes of the branches and leaves.

He was on the ground. Sharp ringing overwhelmed his sense of hearing as he stirred, and noticed that both he and Ellen seemed to be in the grass and dirt. Why? Did she try to get him out of there? Disoriented he moved to weakly push off the ground some, clearly confused as to what exactly happened. Qit had her child and then he passed out... Wait... He... Fucking Immortals he was having quite the trial to-trial. As he turned over to sit up Enrick looked to Ellen and coughed hard, the substance in his system loosened up some to where he hacked a portion of it up. Certainly not a whole lot but enough to make a difference, and with a grimaced spat away from them; he found it a little easier to breathe suddenly as the rest seemed to ease up.

"Fekkin' hell... Oi didn't..." He what? He didn't expect to be so overwhelmed by this trial that it literally caused him to faint? He didn't expect Qit to give birth to something other than his child? Suddenly he realized what he got so worked up over, as the recollection of the details brought back the memory of fact. That child... looked nothing like him to begin with, but half-born much like the others he had seen this trial. Ellen and the other half avriel were just the fitting examples he needed, to immediately realize the few feathers on that infants head meant she too carried the trait. As Enrick looked to Ellen there was yellow deep in his eyes, which quickly turned to red once Qit seemed to ask for him at the hut's doorway.

Did he want to meet her daughter? Her daughter. Not their daughter. Under different circumstances he probably would have without much need to consider it... but the fact he felt an immense amount of regret now changed everything. He was such a fool! To count himself as a parent with no legitimate assurance, just the mere speculation that it was his due to their one.... He clenched his jaw hard with eyes forward, hands balled into fists as he nearly forgot to keep breathing yet again. "No tanks." He finally answered her as he slowly rose to his feet with his back towards the hut, Ellen would only briefly catch the hint of deep sapphire blue in his eyes from the side. "Tink Oi'm gonna go fer a walk." He added without waiting any longer, determined to create as much distance as he could from this embarrassing moment.

He ignored any attempts to convince him to remain, as he did not wish for those gathered here to see him fall apart; once he was finally somewhere alone.

Right, this seemed like a fitting leave for Enrick in this thread. Feel free to continue it as you all see fit of course!

Re: The Harbinger Arrives (Open)

Stepping to the side, the young doctor watched in silence as the new mother held her baby for the first time. Rose’s hands were trembling with nerves and her looked a little pale but she was otherwise alright, although her dress was now completely and utterly ruined. The woman sighed, looking down at the fabric which was smeared with blood and whatever the heck had been in the afterbirth. The Sev’ryn woman locked eyes with her just as the red head looked back up. There was appreciation there and relief that she and her baby were both perfectly healthy and safe.

She certainly hadn’t been expecting to deliver a baby that morning but now that it was done Rose was glad she had run into Qit’ria and her father’s hut. While the Grey Cloaked man spoke with Qit, Rose busied herself by getting a bowl of the hot water the man had prepared and using a cloth to help clean up the mother and baby. It wasn’t necessarily a pretty job, but it couldn’t be comfortable laying there with your body streaked with all sort of unmentionable fluids.

Rose’s father had always stressed the importance of cleanliness, it staved off infection and was always good for patient morale. It also gave the poor nervous healer something to do while the family spent time together. She was used to spending her time locked in a room blending teas and healing unguents. Tending to patients was something she had very little experience with, especially since coming to Desnind. The customs of the Sev’ryn were still a little alien to her and often Rose found herself wondering what she was supposed to be doing during moments like this when there was a lull in her work.

As she went to find a blanket for the mother and child Rose turned to see the man from earlier leaving the hut with a disappointed look on his face. He was brash in his response to Qit’ria when she asked if he wanted to see the baby and Rose felt her face creasing into a frown at his behavior. Had he thought the child was his? Was that what this was about? I mean it was obvious that the girl was of Avriel decent with the gray and black feathers but that didn’t mean that he got to act like a toddler and get his breeches in a twist. That woman had just pushed a baby out of her and now he was acting like a bleedin child.

“What’s with him?” she muttered to herself with a quirked brow and a dismissive twist of her lips. Oh well, men could be utter morons for no reason, at least in her experience. If he wanted to walk off like a ninny then more power to him.

She shrugged his behavior off before proffering the blanket to Qit and Caza.

Qit'ria felt the slap in the face at Enrick's words. She didn't understand why he was being this way. Why wouldn't he want to see her daughter? Tears started to fill her eyes until Caza cooed. Qit'ria immediately snuffed out the disappointment. It was better this way. He was just the driver of the boat. He did his job, she did hers. Their deal was over.

Qit had thought them to be friends. It was why she'd been cold to him on the journey. To protect him from her. He didn't know of the nights she'd stayed up staring at him, wanting to suck his soul from his snoring mouth. He didn't know how bad it was to keep her from killing him. It had taken everything from her. And while she'd not selected him as a mate, there was still that time she'd sought him out.

Ever since that winged woman showed up, Qit'ria apparently meant nothing to him. Elleven was the one who'd pulled him away from the hut in the first place. Perhaps she was his new mate and was being territorial, and he was allowing her to control him. If so, he was weak. So weak. Either way, none of it didn't matter to her. Enrick didn't matter. She had no intentions of seeing him again after this. He was dead to her as far as she was concerned.

And just like that, Qit was over him. She turned and smiled at her father, at Rose. "Thank muchly." Then she remembered the name had said earlier. He'd called the woman Rose. Rose had been here by her side, just as Noah the Snowdove had been. So she uttered the last words of the day, "Caz'aria Rosedove." Then with a smile on her face, she drifted to sleep, holding her baby.

Comments: Boring stuff out of the way first, all of you (save for Qit) if you could pretty please update your ledgers to reflect the current wealth ledger (by being GF'd) would be amazeballs!

Onto the fun stuff! That whole thread was a cluster of chaos, but I got sucked into everyones emotions, from the happiness, to the confusion. It was messy with a satisfying end much like real birth is. It ended neatly but I'm still curious with what happened right after and where everyone went once they were off on their own but well done all of you! The baby is adorable <3

If you feel I've missed anything or if you have questions about your review, please don't hesitate to send me a quick PM or ping me in Discord. Thanks!
