Beyond the city of Rharne lies the Stormlands, which is home to a number of farms, forests, fields, Lake Lovalus, and the River Zynyx. This subforum also includes the Stormwastes to the south.

Rharne Prison

Located in the Northern Stormwastes, an old nameless fort stands, one of few to have survived Faldrun's assault upon these once fertile lands. Perhaps due to its completely red stone structure the place withstood the brutal tactics of the Aukari and their creator. Still the place lay abandoned in the desolate landscape following the invasion for some time before its strong sturdy structure was rediscovered by a small group of Lightning Knights. It was decided that due to its location it would not make for a good military outpost, there was not easy enough access to keep it well supplied.

So instead it was made into Rharne's new prison, a large enough structure to house thousands of prisoners after adapted to be filled with cells. Therefore, the place was transformed from a mighty military fort to the home of Rharne's most troublesome citizens. The location was perfect, it discouraged escape attempts as they would be met by a harsh unforgiving landscape and almost certain death. The location also allowed for labour work to be conducted within and outside the walls due to again the unlikely attempt at escape.

Supplied only once a season excluding Cylus and Saun, the ancient fortress is often running low on essentials and many prisoners struggle to keep healthy as food is not well distributed. Some have managed to find ways to trade there food, others store their meals for a later date when their lives might depend on it. There is also a sort of black market among the prisoners and some guards, as there is in many such establishments.

A certain kingpin among the prisoners has managed to get a small amount of guards to agree to look the other way while he smuggles certain commodities into the walls. For example alcohol, one of the most sort after items by those living within the red stone cells is distributed, for a price. These prices are established independently for each individual and if you seek something more than the usual items smuggled in it can be quite a substantial asking price.

Corrupt and charming Archibald has managed to keep his hands on the prison for the last 20 arcs, using it as more of a business than a detention centre, using the prisoners as slave labour. He has managed to make himself quite rich off the backs of the criminals within the old fort while instructing his guards to keep strict rule over them. Archie is a believer of discipline in all forms and through any methods necessary, therefore his guards can be merciless and care not about reason or intent. Archibald certainly intends to make the most of his time in charge stockpiling his wealth through dirty means in order to make his life as comfortable as possible in the future.

Ricard is an aggressive man, choosing violence over nearly all other choices when it comes to order. He seems to find some form of pleasure in seeing the prisoners suffer and a great amount from inflicting pain upon those who break his strict rules under the guise of teaching discipline. Having worked in the prison for a long time he has begun to learn the many tricks employed by prisoners that are there to escape punishment and hide illegal items and actions from him. He is a hard ma to trick and when you fail to do so you will be met with a swift and brutal punishment usually at the end of his baton.

Your typical gang leader really, aggressive and dangerous he leads his small group of goons in distributing illegally smuggled items to his fellow prisoners for a price. The price can be anything from their food to a dodgy favour. There is no doubting that crossing this man would end badly for all involved although more likely for the one who crosses him. It is important not to waste his time and not to go ill prepared because he does not take well to people taking up his time needlessly, he is a busy man. He has managed to turn some of the guards to his side who will turn a blind eye to his smuggling for as long as it isn't causing them trouble. The moment something truly dangerous, like weapons, comes in that would change quickly.
