A request, well more so a job had come from Duke Detlev in that he had suspicions of a merchant moonlighting as a slaver. There were already rumors of people being smuggled into the city, and among these illegal citizens where heretics. He had killed one already and hunted another down in a fight pit. In his own opinion, he was getting good at this.

He had been following this man and his entourage for some time now, maybe a break or so. He was able to hide in plain sight, far enough away not to be seen by his mark, but close enough not to lose sight of his prey. The man was as cautious as he was charismatic, keeping many at a distance and others well within his reach.

It was good that his only job was to follow the man, not engage him or his men. Discerning reptilian eyes were watching his every action, and those he came in contact with. Some were new face he had never seen before, and many where faces he had seen plenty of times be it in Detlev's company or within the Lair somewhere.

Dosan had followed the man all the way to the docks of Quacia, and needed a better vantage point to see what was happening. Channeling the blood bat necklace he scaled the walls of a nearby building, finding that climbing was a breeze. Once on the rooftop he cut the effect of the echo and perched himself on the ledge, laying on his stomach to limit being seen by watchful eyes. ㊝

Whispers and lies floated through Quacia like a river running through the land. The Lotharro leaned against the wall in one of the darker corners of the docks. The darker brown clothing pulled tight against his muscular form. He was no closer here to finding his brother than he was before. Twisting tales and mindless gossip was all he had to go off of and it did very little to aid him.

The longer Korik stayed in Quacia, the more his heart ached for the freedom of the fields. This place seemed downtrodden and broken, the people matching it perfectly. In his short time of being here, he had seen some of the scum of the city scurrying along like rats. Rumors of slave trade hung on the mans sense of morality.

There was nothing worse to Korik than the idea of a man being stripped of his freedom. Confided by chains and fear to serve another with very little hope of leading a normal life. To him, much like any other of his race, slavers were no greater than the dirt they walked on. Slavers deserved the death that would be brought upon them. There was no honor nor pride to be gained in that style of life. Upon traveling the known world, Korik had learned that slavery was more common then he once thought. His stomach had sunk with the realization that the disease had spread so far.

It sickened him to even think that the rumors of his brother being forced into slavery having an ounce of truth to them. Spitting as he pushed off of the wall, the man began to walk the docks. With his ax at his side and his eyes scanning the horizon. He walked with a sense of confidence and strength.

Asking if they had seen anyone like him or just asking for information on the city. He questioned anyone who would give him the time of day. Though the citizens offered him very little in the way of useful information. Hope still burned inside the young Lotharro. He felt the winds of change and fate would meet soon and a blessing would fall upon him.

The viper slithered his way closer to his prey, finding himself leaping to a from the rooftop he was onto another till he was a little closer to his prey. He wasn't all too sure what to expect from a job like this, but he was aware it would help boost his reputation, well little rep he had at least.

If he could find out if this mark was indeed part of the people smuggling in the city, it would help spread his name and bring him more business. From what he understood, this merchant was supposedly connected to people who had the means to smuggle in heretics and it was something he could not allow, nor did he think He Who Bleeds would allow either. It was on that principle alone that Dosan was here in the first place, though the coin from the job would be nice too. Poverty sucked, and he was ready to elevate himself from it.

He was at least far better at stalking his prey now, however, sticking to the shadows of that the high roofs gave him. He made sure to keep his footsteps light and as noiseless as possible upon his approach.

Once on the rooftop closest to the mark, he ducked and rolled so he was able to catch himself. Standing there, admits the moonlight, cascading over him to silhouette his figure, he began carving the Mark of Prowess into his hand.

As the blade dug through his flesh, the viper hissed faint words into the air.
"My enemies lie at the gates.
Chomping at the bit like beasts.
Yet even with all of their hate.
I do not fear in the least.
Though vine and claw and fang.
May make a noose for me.
I shall gladly hang.
And give my life to thee."

It was at the tail end of that litany, that he felt a presence approach, and turning slightly he could see them. Who was this man? Was he a buyer, or an unfortunate victim to be? The viper wasn't sure, but he couldnt take any chances. If he had to kill this man if it turned out he was buyer he would, or save him if they tried to enslave him.

With his Dao blade in hand, the length of the blade running along his arm, he peered closer to get a better view of the man. ㊝
Mark of Prowess
A slash in the shape of a cosmic star identifies the Mark of Prowess.

Believed to be a fleshy sigil which allows the Wounded God to funnel power into the person who possesses it, the Mark of Prowess supposedly grants a greater degree of skill and ability to its user. Typically, this increase in skill exerts itself in a martial competence, though it may also apply to less violent works such as artistic pursuits or craftsmanship.

In his travels Korik had learned that a hunt didn't have to be between a man and a beast. Whispers and knowledge could also be hunted and while the technique was a bit different the idea remained the same. He had not been stealthy, his large frame was half cloaked in shadow and the other illuminated by the light of the area. His ax in hand as he stared at the people before him.

A few men with various weapons and a merchant. His indigo eyes studied them as he stood silent for a second. His mind bouncing back and forth between ideas. Charge in and hope that the surprise of a Lotharro would be enough to throw them off and force them into a surrender. Or announce himself and make his intentions clear. His body warmed as the blood began to pump through him as the idea of a fresh fight excited him.

Mindless violence wasn't the Lotharro's main choice, but was it really mindless if it served a greater purpose. He stepped forward and spoke clearly, "I am in search of a man that looks like me. He is my brother and I would.. Pay to have him back." His voice clear with purpose though he stumbled at his wording. He had no real interest in paying for his brothers freedom as much as giving his brother freedom. If these men were slavers than their blood would seep into the path Korik carved towards his goal.

Standing in a stunned silence, they looked between each other and than towards the man wielding the ax. Sharing hushed words between themselves as Korik looked on. His patience ruining thin as he waited. Had he not made himself clear enough for them? Or was it his appearance that threw them off. He was a tall and toned Lotharo and his hair ran to his shoulders, though it was pulled back. His ax was nothing special, iron with a wooden handle. But it served it's purpose and Korik had little use for something more stylish.

He rubbed his chin with his free hand before speaking again. "Do you have any word on a Lotharro in this city? I am willing to pay whatever you may want." He was sure that if there was another Lotharro in this city, it would have to be his brother. No Lotharro would willingly come to a place drenched in pity and shadows. As far as Korik was concerned this place was a cesspool and any Lotharro that was willingly heard ether had a reason or was dipped in madness.

The It seemed things were getting interesting for the male that showed up, Dosan, however, was going to use this opportunity to get the info he needed. Slinking down the side of the building he made his way behind the group. It was a good thing they were being distracted otherwise it would take a little longer to get to the boat.

He didnt know how long it would take for this situation to escalate or not so he made his way to the merchant's galleon, staying within the blind spots of the docks as he moved. Slipping onto the boat he echoed the hemovision of the back to check if there were any sentries on the ship, and for his luck, there were only two. Switching to echo the sticky limbs of his bat totem, he scaled the walls of the hallway within the massive galleon.

Once on the ceiling, he made his way till he found the first guard, who was coming down the opposite end of the hall from him. Reaching into his pocket he retrieved a few throwing knives, and once the guard was close, flung them right into his neck and eye, though the other two he threw landed in the wooden floors of the boat.

The next guard was easy as he was standing outside of a room, resting his eyes as he leaned against the wall. Dosan got directly above the man and reached down to snatch the man by the head, putting him in a chokehold. Applying as much strength as he could, he squeezed the life out of the man, the guard's legs flailing and kicking back and forth till they couldnt anymore.

With a thud, the body hit the floor, and Dosan landed next to it. Now that the guards on the boat were dealt with, the Viper made his way around the boat, checking room after room.
"If I were a weak spot in the defense of a kingdom where would I be?"
He scanned the entire area he was in and an important looking set of doors caught his eye and he went to investigate.

He made his way up the corridor of the hallway, making sure to keep his steps as silent as possible, just in case his eyes missed some guards as it wasn't always an accurate echo. He reached the doors and forced them open, finding the merchant's quarters on the otherside of them. He then began to sift through the documents that are within the room.
"So this is the manifesto huh? Let us see who is buying and what goods are being sold, shall we?"
he whispered as he glanced over the book, before putting it on his person.

After 30 more bits of snooping Dosan gathers all the info along with some interesting rumors that he's sure the Duke will love to hear from around town. He manages to compile all the info into the manifesto and heads back outside. Once outside, however, he finds there is no need to remain silent anymore. Unsheathing Blood Fang, he climbs on one of the nearby boats near the group.

"Looks like you boys have been naughty as of late. Sneaking people into the city isn't a nice thing to do ya know. We don't take kindly to that kind of slavery here."
he said as he pointed his blade at the merchant, before licking it in a sadistic manner. Looking to the stranger he smiled, now noticing the face of the man.
"I didnt think I'd see you again after we fought together in the Blood Arena, care to help me kill some slavers real quick? Come on, it'll be fun I promise!

As the merchant and his band discussed back and forth, the Lotharro stood waiting. Patience running thin as they tossed him glances before returning to their murmurers. Rumors and whispers, nothing much for Korik to over here as he stood there. Alone with just them, the thoughts turned in his mind. Cut the rest down and take his attention. Squeeze their throat until the words that he wanted poured out. It would have been simple enough, or so he thought. A rush in, a few swings of his ax and soon it would be one on one.

Though standing there and watching them, Korik could be let on to very little of what they possessed. What weapons and armor they had on them, what could give him a problem if he had just rushed in first. With a snarl and a growl he stepped forwards. "I demand my answers now!" he shouted, raising the ax and pointing it towards them. The group paused for a moment and looked towards the man. Mouths not moving as a few drew their weapons. The Lotharro shook his head and spread his legs. Ready to launch into a fight as words rang out it the silence.

"I didnt think I'd see you again after we fought together in the Blood Arena, care to help me kill some slavers real quick?"

His eyes turned up to the man standing behind the group. His indigo eyes meeting theirs as they spoke. He didn't seem familiar to him and he sure that they hadn't fought recently. But if these were slavers than they had no right to their lives. Scum to be returned to the earth. "I don't know who you are or what is this blood pit you speak of. Though if these men are slavers then I will gladly rid the world of them" he said. Teeth gritted as he'd move forward. Launching himself with burning rage towards the slavers. Throwing himself into one of the men and sending them to the ground.

Fangs bared as he struck downwards with the head of the ax. Smashing the top of the handle against their face as he let out a beast like roar. The passion of battle filling his chest. His blood burning at the challenge of ridding these men of their lives. A beast and a stranger against this wandering group of scum. No thoughts other then victory filled the mans mind as he continued to bring the blunt end of the ax down upon the man. Screaming, with hands clawing and swiping against the Lotharro as their face was caved in.

A solid thread, all around. Kicking slaver arse, and trying to find a sibling. There's not much I can comment on, the content is solid, if the ending is a tad abrupt.
