nrick had no idea that Rabu could put on such a brave front in a situation like this, even as the half-Tunawa quickly faced his match in this storm what with fire swirling about. He also seemed quite distracted by something as well, though Enrick had been far too focused with the storm. Each step made was a considerate one as he didn't wish to just fling himself at the mercy of the elements, even if they were urging him to surrender himself to their own whims. He wouldn't...
Not yet at least. The storm would truly test his resistance to the elements for a short time, but before that brief window came about Rabu took his own initiative with the challenge. The little bunny like creature had nearly hopped into a full speed dart, already with a credible amount of distance gaped between him and Enrick.
"What in te hell?! Oi said- Rrrr!" He couldn't help the growl as he clenched his jaw sternly, his upper body pulled into a low bend so he too could move a little faster. He didn't like the careless wandering into the violent stormfront, but at the same time he didn't wish to fall behind in case Rabu wound up hurt either.
Thus he marched hard with his head low and eyes still barely shielded from dirt, frost, water, whatever the hell pelted against his form as he trudged along. The next thing Enrick knew, an incredible blast of lightning roared several feet away from his right. The blast of the sonic boom he felt deafening his hearing to a dull ring, as he stammered away in a daze with eyes shifting from lilac towards turquoise. What incredible power! If this was the true nature of the elements at their core, the real temperamental chaos they unleashed could never hoped to be understood until this very moment. As Enrick continued to sluggishly march forward, to try and keep up with Rabu, he felt another blast in the air only this time it was more frigid than before.
Fire even soared overhead back towards the portal they'd come from, as Enrick stood fast against the icy whirlwind that pounded him just now. He suddenly found himself wanting to turn back now, even if he knew there wasn't a good chance at saving Rabu when he did. A sensible person would if they valued their life, so why on Idalos couldn't Enrick just find it in himself to do the same? Fuck! Another blast slammed into him as he weathered dust and rocks this time around, the force enough to cause him to struggle as he started to fall onto one knee. When he caught himself he kept pushing, the winds still relentless as he fought to keep up.
Yet the sailor found himself at his limit, and the stamina to keep pushing forward had run out. Slowly but surely he couldn't even find it in himself to crawl, only cling to the ground he was so close to.
"Damn..." He muttered under his breath as he tried to keep it in control, but the pounding of his heart combined with adrenaline; thus he had to do everything he could to keep himself from falling into a panic. So what? What did he need to do now? At this rate he was at the mercy of the storm, which didn't bode well for him at the rate he was going. Had Rabu made it further than he did?
Enrick hoped so. He hoped that the little wooden man with the bunny ears made it soon, maybe even put an end to the raging elements at the heart of the storm. Needless to say Enrick didn't expect himself to go much anywhere, thus the only thing left to do was listen to what he heard... the elements themselves as they called out to him.
"Oi dun expect tis t' work. But..." He closed his bronzed eyes and bowed his head onto the shifting dirt, hopeful to find a moment of clarity as he singled out each rational thought. Right now none of them mattered, only survival was what mattered to Enrick. While he might've felt like a coward hiding away, initially it was an attempt to find peace as he braced himself for the storm once more. Although he doubted the latter would happen any sooner, he'd already felt his body exhausted and with no refuge from the storm; there appeared to be little chance of recovering that lost energy.
So what about that survival instinct? That was what Enrick hoped to immerse himself with, to allow himself to resonate with whatever the elements told him. Become one with them? A part of them? How did one accomplish such a thing? Needless to say he didn't bother pondering the mystery, but rather controlled his breathing as he felt the winds ravage his figure. Every grain of dirt he felt pelting his skin, every frigid drop of water, all the hell this unrelenting storm threw down at him; Enrick merely clenched his entire form as he tried to brave the front at this rate. By now he would've given up and turned around, determined to leave all this behind and live for another day.
However he stayed right where he was, hopeful that he'd immerse himself with the elements; rather than be at the mercy of their continuous barrage.
