The War of Slags Deep (Objectives)

Phase One

It isn't hidden that it was Ashan, 720 that the Council openly declared war on Slags Deep. The prison of Scalvoris has been a point of contention for some time and when it was discovered that the Warden had made deals with the Council and Slags Deep was, in fact, an independent sovereign state, separate from the laws and reach of Scalvoris - things came to a head.

Soon, rumours grew. Whispers were heard in taverns and inns. Faldrass and the eruption there took attention away - for a while - but soon enough things started to rear their head once more. After the Logging Consortium (long since believed to have been in a mutually beneficial relationship with the Warden) was gone, the prison closed its doors.

And now, the war is here. What shape that war will be, how battle will be played out will be determined - of course - by you the players. But everyone knows it's coming. People don't know exactly when Slags Deep stopped having inmates arrive, or when they stopped having any traffic to the doors.

But they are - completely - closed off.

These following are objectives which can be met by any player.

1. Gather Information On Slags Deep
   This might be when deliveries stopped, who used to deliver there, numbers, rumours about the place. These might be true, partially true, or wildly apocryphal.
2. Gather Information On The Warden & Staff
   Who works there, what do they do? What sort of skills do they have? Find out information - maybe someone who's been to one of his parties? However you find out - find out.
3. Gather Information On The Geography
   Terrain is important in any conflict. Is there any advantage you can gain ?
4. Gather Information!
   Research - find out stuff. Ask people. Visit libraries. Who knows!? Find out links etc.
5. Gather Resources
   Ask for help. Build things. Buy things. Hire people. Pray! Write to people who live far away but you know! Get help!!!!!

If you're going to take any of these rumours then post your first post in the thread where you do. THEN post here, link to that first post and tell me what you're planning on - how, who, when, etc. I'll modnote your first post and let you know you can post again.

PLEASE NOTE: None of what I modnote is approved until you complete the thread and put it for review. Once you've done that, post here again. I'll edit your ORIGINAL post to include the modnoted information and any other stuff you find.

Phase Two

The Council Member for Welfare acts and there are more objectives from that!

• 6. Donate to the relief effort: The Council is prioritizing relief. Food supplies, tents, medics etc. Anything that might be needed for people involved in the fighting. Make donations of money, goods, or time. There are donation boxes in secure locations.
• 7. Use your skills! Bao is askin for help from anyone with skills that may prove helpful, such as woodcraft, fieldcraft, cooking and ANY other skills that might be of help to be involved where possible.
• 8. Pray! Bao will also suggest, and do so himself, that prayers to Immortals are sent - especially by those that are marked.

There will be a "Relief Effort" focus in each town / village - so you can get involved!

The Council Member for Natural Affairs acts and there are more objectives from that!

• 9. Guard animals! Can you provide a trained animal or help with the training of such? All help received!

There will be a "Natural Affairs" focus in each town / village - so you can get involved!

The Albarech acts and there are more objectives from that!

• 10. Increase in Security There are more Elements on the streets, more security focus throughout Scalvoris, especially in Egilrun. Can you offer your help with more mundane Element tasks, to relieve the pressure?
• 11. Teachers and Guards The Trainer, Marcelle Tren, has asked that anyone who has any teaching or caregiving skill and is able to defend schools applies to help. She doesn't want children afraid, but she wants all children protected so is asking people to work as teachers, support assistants etc - and be aware that they are there in a primary capacity to defend in case of violence.
• 12. Business Sense The Merchants Guild is being asked to prioritise work for the war effort. Can you help a business? Maybe by working in the front reception or by helping them with crafting supplies.
• 13. University Investigation The university is investigating the history, geography, legends, myths, etc of Slags Deep, the Warden, and anything relevant. Can you help?
• 14. Intelligentsia The Intelligentsia faction is also investigating. They're based in the Scholar's Nook, but there are members all over Scalv. Can you help?
• 15. Preparing for Casualties The Order of the Adunih and Isonomia are preparing for casualties and deaths. Help in the preparation?

Aim of thread is to: Research rumors of a caped vigilante known as the Crystal Blade, operating out of Egilrun. He has ties to Slag's Deep and the Watcher's Union.
This meets objective: Woe ingratiated himself to the Watcher's Union boss, Tobias Lamkey, and discovered an attunement note of one of Crystal Blade's crystal shackles.

Woe finds that the place is entirely devoid of metal other than those nails he found. When he attunes to the crumbling crystal he is sure that there is a trace of Domain magic. They will certainly require further examination if he is to find out more. You have opened a new personal objective. "Research the Crystal Shards". Feel free to start threads where he does this - get to the point where he is asking the question / performing the research / talking to the expert - and post here again. If he plans on letting people know what he's discovered so far - please do so IC.

Woe and Hart have some good ideas here and they're beginning to get some answers, too! You have unlocked the following objectives, which may be explored together or separately. Until or unless you tell someone else, these objectives are only open to you, but please note other PCs may stumble across these objectives in a different way. You don't have to follow them all, but they're options. Explore the clothing - are there clues to be found? Investigate the shackles - or lack of them. Asking the metalsmiths will not get you direct answers. But maybe there's more at play here. Investigate the anti-magic sentiment. Why is it here? What's going on ? Who started it and who keeps it up?

There are conflicting stories about the "Heart of Scalvoris". Smooglenuff believed it is beneath Faldrass, but he acknowledges that there are other legends which speak differently (including one which talks of five elements, as shown in your thread). With such limited resources, Elisabeth knows no more than this - but these legends must be findable somewhere. New Objective: Research legends of the Heart of Scalvoris and compare different ones.

	It's probably nothing - probably nothing at all. She doesn't see Xiur, or feel his presence. However, as she leaves the sandy beach, she sees that there is a whole patch of twinkling Tempest Lilys - and maybe it's a trick of the light, but for a moment they seem to resemble the stars at night. When she gets back to the tent, there in a place which is "hers" is a stack of parchment and a quill.
