Approaching The Zatkai...

Image
Built into the side of the mountain, many winding roads lead up the side of the cliffs, slowly slanting up as they climbed higher and higher. Along the way, the city was bustling under the dark clouds from the Heart of the World: the largest Volcano to ever sprout within the world. Most days were dark due to the clouds. Its constant flow of lava and molten rock spewed dirt and ash into the air that gladly coated the surrounding buildings and land in dark, thick layers.

Within the city, the roads were built from stone while blazers that were constantly lit lead the way to the top of the heart of the world where the House of Faldrun sat, overlooking his people and the fiery volcano. To think that Faldrun would actually live in this house is foolish as most outsiders believe this, however, this is actually the Zatkai's residence and the place were the facilitate all Aukari citizens with missions to dominate the outside world.

The House of Faldrun is built just below the lip of the volcano and rests within the rock, allowing small streams of lava to pour over the cliff. It is a danger that's constantly ignored, though it happens often when humans or non-Aukari races end up melting a limb off. Within this rock is a tunnel alight with statues of the original eight, decorated with gems and accented by flames that sat at the hands and feet of each statue. A deep ruby rug led the way to an enormous door detailed with gold and onyx trimming, giant black ringers, and smoldering fire that drew intricate patterns in thin lines all over the door.

Surprisingly, it doesn't take much effort to push it open. Beyond the doors is another chamber where in it, seated in the middle of the room, is a throne that reaches to the very peak of the ceiling which climbs stories high. Lava flows from the rock behind the throne, circling like a river throughout the room while more torches and lanterns lined the many decorative black and gold pillars. All of it was rock and stone, deeply dark except for the molten river of fire that glowed an almost deep red.

Next to the giant throne were small chairs where upon the other members of government were to be seated. They were not as lavishing because they were not as important, though their opinions mattered all the same.

As one approached, the Zatkai is seated on the throne while the other council members whisper secrets between themselves, already having judged the last graduate that had recently exited the chambers. It is expected that you kneel and bow your head, never raising it to look upon the council unless otherwise stated. It is an insult to the ruling powers should any Aukari fail this simple act of mannerism.

Moments would pass before the Zatkai spoke, his voice booming in the chamber of fire. He wore red robes adored with jewels but the most notable feature was the fire that licked his skin at a constant burn. All powerful and mightier than any who walked the city, the Zatkai was truly terrifying.

“So you've come to prove your worth to our city? Why would our great Immortal find use for you? You may answer.”
OOC Note
Please post in a separate topic within this forum to obtain your mission from the Zatkai. All Aukari who reside within Sirothelle must meet with the Zatkai.
