As though to give some kind of tribute to, or perhaps to laugh in the face of, the volcano they live with, the markeplace of Faldrass is always covered by streams of red cloth overhead. There seem to be a hundred different shades and a myriad of different types of material which change on a trial-by-trial basis; yet it's always there overhead and it's always red.

The marketplace of Faldrass is as much a communal area as anything. There are relatively few folks living here, but they do have to live. So, there is a market which services their needs for foods, cloth, household wares and pretty much anything. From the mundane to the very unusual and unique flora and fauna of Faldrass, most anything readily available can be bought here. More than that, it is a place to meet people, to sit around the water fountain in the wall by the fruit stall and to chat. There is no sense of urgency here.
