The talks had been going for a break when everything went to hell. At first it seemed like a small thing, a bit of trouble between two soldiers in both groups of bodyguards, a result of the tensions of the past few seasons. But it soon became clear that it was much, much worse as the campsite degraded into a small, but fierce battle between both sides.
The battle only lasted a few bits before both forces broke off, the Nashaki forces making for the walls of the city while the Imperial forces retreated rapidly to the north. A few of the Velduris wolves, familiars of those marked by Karem, were spotted amongst the retreating Imperial forces and those learned in Blessings knew that The Eternal Empire was already aware that the talks had failed.
When the Nashaki delegates returned to the city, they explained that the Imperials had suddenly turned aggressive, attacking the Nashaki forces while accusing the Nashaki delegates of plotting an attack on their own forces. To those in charge, the outcome of this meeting was clear. The Hotlands War had been rekindled and peace would not return to the desert any time soon.
As the citizens returned to their homes and the officials returned to the Towers to begin planning their next move in the war, one figure remained on the walls, hidden in the shadows and unseen. Black armor covered her figure, but her head was uncovered, showing dark hair and amber eyes. Resting one guantleted hand on the top of the wall, Valtharn looked out over the ruined campsite and grinned. This turn of events suited her perfectly.
