OVERVIEW
Corun’s Cirque Festivus is a traveling entertainment troupe that specializes in acrobatic and theatrical performances. They are a far cry from the label of “Freakshow”, but they don’t shy away from the strange, weird, and daring. Whatever will captivate their audience enough to keep the nel flooding in will be given a slot in the show. While the company isn’t massive in size, it’s fairly large for any traveling group and consists of all common races and some usual professions. They hire employees on a contractual basis, usually for an arc at most, and the positions range from guards and hunters to dancers, actors, acrobatics, and singers, to seamsters, crafters, musicians, painters, architects and much more. Cirque Festivus maintains quality shows that are fitted with vibrant, exotic clothes and colors, music, and many props used to overwhelm and entice the guests. Therefore, it is imperative that not only the performers and items are protected, but the durability of all things needed for the show are at their best.
Current Size of Troupe: 63 Members (Including all employed personnel.)
TRAVELING
Unlike most performing groups, the troupe does not limit itself to one place. Corun’s Cirque Festivus visits locations from the far reaches of Scalvoris all the way to the dark waters of Quacia (though don’t ask them to visit again without a six figure advancement!). However, voyage eats up a lot of their performance and practice time, so they don’t normally undertake sea travel unless there’s a major port city close by.
Anyone who is apart of Cirque Festivus is there contractually, which means they must travel with the company or pay a fee for termination. While a tent, a bed, show costumes, and props are provided, everything else is not. Performers are expected to purchase their own food rations, toiletries, bedding, clothes, and anything else they need with the coin given to them after performances. Unless the distance is far, travel expenses must be paid for by the troupe member and if such expenses cannot be met, they will be covered by the Ringmaster on the basis that their contract will extend for another arc.
Shows are performed during the warmer parts of the arc, from Ashan to Vhalar. These performances range in extravagance depending on the areas that are visited. Most often, in small villages, simple roadside displays are put on while the rest of the company rehearses their acts back in camp. When visiting major cities, however, they pull out all the stops as multiple shows are performed weekly, both day and night. Depending on the city, some landmark locations are even rented out by the troupe for special shows.
Performances
Roadside Shows - These performances are free and range from small concerts to simple shows of strength or one acts that use minimal (sometimes crude) costume prep and props. Tips are encouraged and multiple members are assigned to draw a crowd, if possible, and collect any kind of tip— be it coin, food, or material resources.
Demonstration of Skill Shows - A step up from roadside shows, but nothing compared to other performances, these demonstrations are done for a modest crowd and involve a wide variety of small acts ranging from standup comedy, magic tricks, displays of strength, sword throwing/swallowing, ritual dances, instrument performance, and much more. Normally members of the troupe who are considered “shadows” and looking for recognition participate in these shows, as anyone can perform in them, be it dancer, guardsmen, or crafter.
Theatrical Shows - If the Master of Ceremonies is confident a script will catch the audience's interest, he’ll assign the troupe rehearsal for a theatrical performance, be it pure acting or a musical. These shows consist of multiple acts, require the entire ensemble’s support, and usually last for about a season.
Dance / Acrobatic Shows - A common performance put on by the Cirque Festivus. Dance and/or Acrobatic shows are constantly designed, rehearsed, and shown after the previous sets have had a season to run. The Master of Ceremonies demands fresh material for the public, should they arrive in a major city, to discourage redundancy. These types of performances involve group ensemble, a variety of embellished, colorful costumes, and/or aerial displays that may require beams, rope, or silk.
Beast Shows - These performances are considered “intermittent” acts, as the troupe doesn’t travel with a wide variety of exotic animals. The beasts they travel with are comprised of a small pack of dog/wolf hybrids, several Fenrixs, and a Willow Redbear name Auppi. The animals are trained to perform tricks by a Beast Master, with Auppi being the main attraction. Treatment and enclosure care are among the top most priority of the Beast Masters. Under no circumstances are these animals mistreated by the company as they understand an abusive environment reinforces aggressive behavior.

Master of Ceremonies / Owner
Name: Kronos Corun
Race: Human
Date of Birth / Age: 72 Vhalar 685 - 34 Arcs
Skills: Business Management - 30, Appraisal - 30, Detection - 30, Etiquette - 10
Information: Even though he carries the title, Master of Ceremonies, Kronos Corun— better known as K.C.— handles the troupe's show sets more often than actually performing. Literally, he is the conductor of all things the company performs or will perform in the coming future, so he's hired additional Ringmasters to take his place in the shows while he watches from afar. That's not to say the man never engages with his employees, however, keeping track of the business affairs can be rather tedious and time consuming. Due to this, K.C. isn't often seen outside of his tent and if he is, he's engaged in several meetings with potential employees, business clients, or traders.
Before his free time became occupied in business matters, K.C. was a performer in the shows while his father managed the troupe. Standing tall with inky black hair and a body built to support the weight of another for a duration of time, Kronos was well equipped and well honored with the spotlight several times, something that he latched onto and sought after. It garnered him attention, both positive and negative gossip, and encouraged several partners to seek him out for other activities. Even at his father's voiced discouragement, Kronos continued his scandalous behavior. Now, in the present moment, while he remains logical in regards to keeping business and pleasure separate, he won't hesitate to use someone's poor predicament to satisfy his greedy nature. He is perceptive, yes, but greedy.

Ringmaster
Name: Raul Concello
Race: Human
Date of Birth / Age: 2 Zi'da 666 - 53 Arcs
Skills: Sewing - 30, Leadership - 30, Acting - 20, Detection - 20
Information: Raul is an old fellow with salt and pepper hair and the not so subtle age lines everyone knows as wrinkles. However, he's no small fry and has a temper to match his kindness. It's not seen often, but when it surfaces, it most likely involves the Ringmistress, Victoria Lemay. It's known the pair haven't gotten along since Victoria's employment nearly two arcs ago, but Raul tends to brush the fights off by making compromises with the woman. Thankfully, she's keen to those. Aside from his less than amiable partner, Raul is considered the troupe's grandpa. He's full of advice, wisdom, and guidance when one is able to steal his attention away from the odd novel or news article. When he's not in the ring, announcing the acts, his handling publicity for Cique Festivus.
Before his ten arcs with the troupe began, Raul was a simple sartor who took his daughter's place in the troupe when she fell ill from pregnancy and couldn't continue to travel any longer. Unable to terminate her contract, Kronos' father thought Raul's skill was enough to replace his daughter's and so, he signed on to travel, craft, and mend clothes for the performers. At first, the times were rough, busy, and the letters— plentiful. But when the moment came to sail for voyage, Raul had to forfeit more time with the troupe to afford travel. Situations where money was lacking arose often, too often, but he only took notice after signing years of his life away. The letters he received from his daughter stopped coming, and even with his life committed to the company, he was not permitted to travel and see her. Instead, he hopes to save up enough money to break his contract so that he can return home someday.

Ringmistress
Name: Victoria Lemay
Race: Human / Biqaj
Date of Birth / Age: 55 Ymiden 690 - 30 Arcs
Skills: Acting - 30, Acrobatics- 30, Dancing - 20, Teaching - 20
Information: Victoria Lemay is a haughty blonde with piercing purple eyes that only shift to orange when she's upset. Small and lean, this Ringmistress is not someone to mess with as her skills in acrobatics could leave one pinned to the floor with their head crushed between her legs. While Kronos handles business matters and Raul, publicity, Victoria supervises rehearsals and ensures the performers are practicing even during rest periods. She looks after the props and costumes used for shows, and adds her input if things appear too over embellished or lacking thereof. Unfortunately, nothing escapes her eye, not even relationships among the troupe members— something that is severely looked down upon. So committed to her duties, Victoria has no problem stooping to whatever dark and devious means necessary to keep the cast in line. The show must go on, right?
Victoria grew up in Andaris and chanced upon Corun's Cirque Festivus when she was a little girl. It was love at first sight, she thought, watching all the finely dressed dancers spin about in nearly matched rhythm. She wished with all her heart to be up there one day, while that audience saw and cheered for her. From that day forward, Victoria committed her interests to honing her skills in dance, acrobatics, and acting— hoping one day, she would be versed enough in the arts to earn her place among the troupe. When the time came to audition for her spot, she was barely given attention and instead, was coerced into providing a sexual favor in exchange for her spot with the troupe as a performer.
It wasn't mere skill that helped Victoria become the Ringmistress she is today. The woman has committed damnable deeds that lay buried still where they happened. Needless to say, if anyone threatens her position, she's not afraid to commit more atrocities.
