Price: Dead: 5gn (skin and teeth) MoleRat Skin is more sought after than moleskin as it's even softer.

Habitat: Everywhere. I mean, everywhere. You live on Scalvoris? You've seen one of these.

Lifespan and Development: They are born in litters of up to 8, they mature to adults very quickly (within 20 trials) and then they live for about 3 arcs. During the time that they live, they will sire or birth up to 6 litters of pups.

Appearance: Ugly. Bald with lots of wrinkles and very long (very sharp) front teeth. Tiny little eyes which are entirely black. There is, however, nothing wrong with their vision.

Size: Body is usually between 20 - 30cms with the tail being about 4 - 5cms. They are heavy and dense for their size and their wrinkled, horrid looking skin is surprisingly soft.

Diet: Naked mole rats are the ultimate in "opportunist omnivorous eaters". What that means is that they will eat anything. Literally, whatever they can find. This includes, but is not limited to: grains, fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts etc. If desperate, they will hunt for insects and other small creatures.

Temperament: They are permanently hungry, can get into almost anywhere it seems and they will attack if cornered. In terms of having a personality, that's about it. They are as happy in packs as they are alone and will eat their children if there's nothing else around. Or their grandmother.

Abilities: Big long sharp nasty front teeth. Natural carriers of disease.

Weaknesses: Individually weak and their constant hunger means that they can be easily poisoned etc.
