Summary:

This ability implies an understanding of where one's own mind begins and ends, so long as one allows outside forces to penetrate it.

If the user feels their psyche being altered, they may make a conscious decision to allow the presence to impart the target's effects upon the mind.

Allowing for an ability to bypass the effects of Empathic Bastion, the user is better able to understand the intended effects of supernatural meddling when it comes to matters of one's own mind.

In practice, it trades mental defense for mental perception.

Perception:

(Cannot be used for Empathic Bastion) Magic: Expert and below. (+1 Threshold for repeated attempts) Marks: Adored and below. (+1 Threshold for repeated attempts) Ghost: Expert and below. (+1 Threshold for repeated attempts)

Counterplay:

This ability entirely negates the benefits of Empathic Bastion unless the intended manipulation is directly lethal in nature.

Without continued contact with the target, the user is only able to gain threshold advantages so long as they give in at least once a cycle to an individual target. (Bonus is not given the first time around.)

Discipline operates at -1 Threshold during the activation of this ability, allowing the above targets to exert their will easier.
