Phrase

"Biyu tawng" (trans: Difficult Oak)

Pronounciation

 /Bee-yo/ taw-nn

Meaning

It is translated directly to common as difficult oak. However, the expression is usually used when describing someone who is overly (and usually annoyingly) stubborn.

Used

The expression was originally used by a tree singer of Desnind, he had worked with the growing of oaks and observed how they could be particularly stubborn and hard to persuade. This was then adopted by the masses of Desnind as an expression pertaining to particularly stubborn people.

Example: "Ti'niva it such a Biyu tawng. He never lets me be the first to shoot."
