All about me….

Hey hey! My name’s Astronomy, and I’m an Advocate and half of the Desnind team! When I started staff, I was an ST in Yaralon, helping with its development, before I became a full-time Blue Boy. But, I’ve always had a love for Desnind, and when it needed help, I was happy to lend a hand!

I love ST because......

Aw c’mon now. Asking me why I love ST is like asking me why I like to run or play music or read. I love ST because it’s more than welcoming - it’s inviting. The folks here are family and I feel like I’m at home with them. They’re the kinda folk I genuinely want to help. That’s why I’m staff. And it’s the kinda folk I wanna be a family with. And that’s why I’m a player.

The reason Desnind excites me as a mod is........

THE POTENTIAL! Oh MAN the potential! Are you kidding me!? Do you know how many twists and turns we can throw at the Desnind players, both lore-wise and narratively!? The city’s concept is solid enough to have an identity and flexible enough to be interpreted in [i]so many different ways[/i]. I intend on exploring that space.

The way to my heart (as a mod) is...........

Fully realized concepts! Give me an atmosphere, an original idea, an intriguing twist on an old trope, make my job and yours [i]interesting[/i] and I will reciprocate it back to you!

My favorite work of fiction in any media is.....

Over the Garden Wall. Hands down. The whole thing. The narrative structure, the art direction, OST, the use of thematic devices, it’s gold. And I bet you’re sleeping on it. Go watch it. All of it. Go. Now.

I love to write about.....

Stories. Arcs. Beginning to end. I love complete ideas, tied up with a nice little bow.

I'd like to learn more about........

CHARACTERS. I wanna learn more about YOUR PC. I wanna know the subtleties and inner workings, the nuances and reasons, I wanna know the childhood traumas and first crushes and I wanna know their recurring nightmares. Character study confounds and delights me. Give me an interesting PC and I won’t forget to pay very close attention to their adventures.

About my co mod……

Okay if you don’t know who Pegasus is or what a gem she is already, you’re either brand spanking new and haven’t even opened your Welcome PM yet, or you’re just oblivious. Either way, let me enlighten you. Peg “Standing Trials” Asus is the mod. She’s the model. Her ambition, her wherewithal, and her kindness are unmatched. She’s stupidly attentive, detail oriented, and a perfect partner. You are LUCKY to have her as a mod, and I don’t exaggerate, nor do I say these words lightly. Her work is beyond exemplary. It’s something to strive for. I’m really excited to be her partner.

All about me…

Hi there! There isn't much about me. I started on ST as a player couple years ago before my fav city was to be without a mod so I thought that it was the right time to put my big pants on, step up and give the mod thing a shot. It's been worth it. Quite the juggling feat to keep 2 characters and modding stuff on track but it's been a great learning experience. And somehow the journey has landed me in this beautiful place!

I love ST because......

It's a place where I can indefinitely create anything that my brain desires. From bewitching flowers to unhinged characters you definitely do not want to meet on the street. It's fun. It's crazy. It's my cup of tea.

The reason Desnind excites me as a mod is........

The possibilities for creativity. I lived near a forest my whole childhood. Desnind is in a forest and so its close to me in that sense. But there is also this whole spirituality about it which helps me to identify with it all the more. You know, forest can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Depending on how you enter it...or if you even get out.

The way to my heart (as a mod) is...........

Cooperation. The good old magic formula for making stuff happen. And it for player/player or player/mod interaction. If you know how to cooperate, I'm your best bud.

My favorite work of fiction in any media is.....

...a tough one to answer. I don't tend to re-read or re-watch stuff. But I love anything written by Stephen King...aside from Dark Tower series. I still don't quite get it and get myself to read it.

I love to write about.....

The challenging stuff. Anything that puts characters out of their comfort zone, drives them a bit crazy (or maybe they already are!). I like to push the limits not only because it gives space to growth but also because one person once told me that creativity comes with limitation. It's only when we have a few choices that we need to think outside the box.

I'd like to learn more about........

The way a mind works and one of the ways to explore that is not only through reading about it but also writing about it and allowing our own mind to take us on a journey which oftentimes may be quite surprising.

My pet peeves are........

The constant drifting in and out that I tend to go through. It's like I am here at one point, the next I ghost. Yeah, part of the reason why I've adopted this nickname. But it is something I am working on and it has a lot to do with pacing myself and taking on only so much stuff that I can handle and not more. Trust me, I am long past 3 months in 6 months out sort of stage.

My favorite Xanthean word is …..

Aìdá adugbo - whichever of these two means love. Love is important you know and it describes the whole Desnind area and Sev'ryn race itself, I think. Love for the surroundings, for each other, etc. Heck, even gratitude would be my favourite word! But then...we're getting into my obsession with languages and that's an entirely different tale for another time.

About my co mod……

Both of them...are awesome. There is no other word to describe either Peg or Astro. I've known them for different lengths of time but they have both left a lasting mark on me. Dedicated, focused, caring and willing. Everything an awesome human should be (although...I still think Astro is the cutest big eyed pup x)

All about me….

Well, I’m a Storyteller here in Desnind. When I joined staff, I worked in Rynmere and then I moved off and made Scalvoris my own. Now, I’m here in our lovely City in the Trees and I couldn’t be happier. I love writing stories and seeing players’ stories come to life. There’s just something so rewarding about it! I’m very much a Storyteller at heart - I have utmost respect for the Dev and Advocate team, but stories, and the telling of them, is where my passion lies.

Other than that - you might know me as the IRL mother of our very own Munchkin. He’s my eldest, and my youngest, “Niblet”, is an honorary STer. I teach people stuff, sometimes, as a job, but mostly I just loaf about.

I love ST because......

It’s player-drive, player-centric and has a real “can do!” attitude. I love that about the place. The lore is rich and detailed and the mod team are passionate. I genuinely think that we’re the best RP site bar none. I mean, obviously, this is the place for me and I’m totally biased, but I love our players, our staff and our lore.

The reason Desnind excites me as a mod is........

It’s got so much potential! It’s an onion, is Desnind - there’s lots of layers to it. Sure, on the surface, it’s all bare foot Sev’ryn hippies and dancing round the fire pit. But look at the factions, look at the history, consider Moseke and her outlook on the world.

Add in to that the beautiful visuals, unusual scenery and unique nature and I genuinely think that Desnind has the most potential of any city on ST.

The way to my heart (as a mod) is...........

Play your pc honestly! Goodie, baddie or in between, do what the pc would do. Not because you want them to get the power, or you need this skill or that knowledge. Play them as a person, and I’ll happily throw the best world and events at you that I can. Be enthusiastic about your story, even if your pc is vile, just have the best time. Play nice with others and give back to the site - be that in development pieces or as a guest ST or staff member.

Ohmygawd, Astro so chose this question. It’s not fair -I voted for “ways I’d like to kill Astro” but he wouldn’t answer it. Sigh. Ok. My favorite work of fiction in any media… Hmmm. The World According to Garp. I love that book. Love. Not like. Love. It’s just.. If you’ve never read it. Read it. If you’ve read it? Read it again. It’s amazing.

I love to write about.....

As a mod? Almost anything. I can be a little dubious on writing magic, but that’s because I really focus on “getting it right” and so I don’t have too many magic threads. As a player - anything. I mean, you know, I love writing. I’ve done a few posts, here and there, and really, I just enjoy writing.

I'd like to learn more about........

Playing the cello. Oh, I’d love to play the cello. Physics. It confounds me - and my pc Faith is married to an astrophysicist. Err. well, honestly, mostly, if there was anything that I really wanted to learn more about - I would.

My pet peeves are........

As a mod - I hate being behind. Feeling overwhelmed.I try really hard not to.I don’t like disorganized and, if I’m [b]entirely[/b] honest, I have a thing about punctuation / apostrophes especially. I know, I know.

About my co mod……

~~ Astro: Oh.My God. It’s like working with a Labrador puppy who’s had too much sugar. He’s adorable, excitable, needs me to grab him by the collar and yank him back, now and then, and he seems really at home in Desnind. Astro is one of those people who is always, always trying his best. You’ve got to respect that - and usually, the first thing he’s trying his best to do is be kind and nice and everyone’s friend. He’s approachable and, if you need help - just give him a shout and he will always, always do his best.

~~ Returner. You know, there are people on ST who are just the backbone of the place. Consistent, excellent writing, friendly, welcoming personality and a true pleasure to work with, write with or chat with. That's Returner. Dedicated, committed and eager. Woohooo.
