The Fabled Door is located near the center of Bastards' Grove, tucked into the roots of one of the many trees there. It has been in the forest for as long as any Yari can remember. It appears to be carved from a singular piece of naturally existing stone that has always been there beneath the tree. The few steps, the obelisks, and the doors, all one piece, expertly crafted and apparently immune to the elements and damage. The horned face above the door appears to be the only piece of stone work separate from the rest.

The Yari people have long associated the door as a Shrine to Cassion. This came about when it was discovered that it possesses magical properties. People have learned over time that by offering up a story to the obelisk on the left, verbally spoken, that it is recorded within the shrine. It was later learned that by asking a question to the obelisk on the right, it will respond with advice, in the form of telling one of the tales stored within it. There are no limitations to the use of either obelisk. Some of the stories are short, people musing about something interesting that happened through their day, others are long epics of someone's entire life.

It is not terribly uncommon for an entire Yari family to make the perilous journey to the shrine to tell their stories and learn important things together. More frequent are older generations of Yari men and women making the trip when they can sense their death nearing. These pilgrimages are a somber event, and often come with a procession of the Yari's closest friends and relatives accompanying them, to hear the stories one last time. Many a time has a story been finished, and the elder promptly dropped dead upon the steps. These storytellers are often buried among the roots of the nearby trees, in the hopes to better feed and look over the shrine.

It is said that truly gifted storytellers, those marked by Cassion, and the mortalborn of Cassion have a different relationship with the shrine when compared to the layman. Some even say that the doors even open up for these particular individuals, but few know what happens after that.
