Weather

Like many other cities, Ymiden is a moderate to warm season for Desnind and Magani. In heavily forested areas, the warmth is diminished into a pleasant coolness that only heavy shade can provide. Closest to the water, the heat causes moderate to severe humidity. This is expected to get worse in Saun. Occasionally the heat is broken by cloudy days and the occasional afternoon shower. The forest is full of life which makes for good hunting and the plants are heavy with exotic fruits and berries.

Events

    • Banquet
      • In honor of the changing season, a banquet is held throughout Desnind. Food is readily found throughout the city, but the Hunters' Fire Pit is very full with people cleaning kills, roasting meats, and stirring pots of stew and soup. As the day gives way to night, a small obstacle coarse is set-up on either side of Moseke's temple. After the adults have their competition, the children are allowed to race one another and play on the obstacles. The winner will receive a small pendant, believed to be blessed by Ymiden. Whether is has powers, no one knows.

    • Race - Tunäwä Only Event
      • In preparation for the Aìdá Adugbo, Magani has come alive with small tests of skill. One of the grandest matches is pitting riders and their mounts against once another. A single race occurs with two categories: land and flight. The race takes place from the gates of Magani to the Itọju of Desnind. The race by air generally takes one to two bits while the race by land is generally 4-5 bits, depending on the weather. All Tunäwä are invited to participate, and the winner will be given a lovely mount-related award and have themselves honored at the Aìdá Adugbo in Desnind.

    • Aìdá Adugbo
      • This festival is in honor of the great love the two immortals felt for one another. Ymiden and Moseke have always found great happiness in each others company. This was consummated by Ymiden's gift to Moseke - the Tunäwä. The Sevir use this holiday as a way of celebrating love, while the Tunäwä remember this day as the birth of their people. Many Sevor will give tokens and bond with their dabi uaya. The Tunäwä honors Aläïwä heavily on this day for it is her birthday. Love and birth represent the general theme of the celebration. As always, food and celebration fires are present. Flowers are highly valued at this celebration. Children born during this celebration are believed to have the blessing of both Immortals and have the ability of giving endless love. Sevir believe that they are the happiest of their race.

    • Criminal Act
    • A young woman has come before a group of elders, claiming that she was sexually assaulted on the night of the Aìdá Adugbo. She describes a man that had long black hair, seductive brown eyes, and flawless olive skin. She mentions that he seemed highly interested in her before breaking with a "madness that only half a soul would understand." The elders are concerned and are enlisting the help of the people to track this criminal down.
