The Duro Yi was first established by a Qi’ora tailor named Melna, who was initially drawn to the vibrant forest the goddess Moseke cultivated. The tailer diligently constructed the building that would be her work shop and place of business. Once it was finished however, it didn’t get much attention. Most sev’ryn preferred having their clothing made by relatives or friends. This didn’t leave much room for an aspiring artist with little connections.

It wasn’t until the nearly forgotten shack was discovered by a flamboyant Tunawa named Nautu, that Melna’s store gained attention. While the Qu’ori made great work, the magnificent bead work and creative flair the tiny savant provided helped to draw attention. Nautu also helped showcase her work to his friends and family give the location the Notoriety it deserved.

The store front isn’t particularly dazzling but once a customer steps inside they’ll be met with a delightful array of colourful designs and embellishments. Nautu is usually the one that handles the customers while Melna hides in the back diligently sewing her next piece.
