Though fire is heavily regulated within Desnind, it is still necessary for cooking food, and both fire and food can almost always be found at the Hunters' Fire Pit not far from Moseke's Temple.

A place large enough to roast the bigger kills, it also serves as an in-town gathering spot. There is a large central fire pit with three or four smaller pits for smaller affairs. Non-hunters are welcomed as well of course, if they are hungry, particularly if they have any skill with cooking beyond simply putting things over the fire. There is almost always some hunter or another returning with game, and while much of this goes to their families or is traded for other goods, it is tradition to contribute something to the hunters pit when you can.

At the very least there is always The Stew. It deserves the capital letters. It is possible at some point the large cauldron is fully emptied and scrubbed, one would certainly hope so, but this never seems to be observed, and it is the habit of almost all to simply throw in a little more meat, a little more vegetables, a little more water as the stew diminished, resulting in something that was very nearly primordial. It is warm and rich and gamey and could certainly keep you going though, which is largely what the Hunters cared about.

If someone is looking to find a hunter, either for meat, tracking, or any other task or simply to converse, this is a good place to start looking. Assuming you are friendly with the hunters, it is also a good place to get the recent news, as the hunters gossip worse than old women with those they know.
