Elemental Grasp

For as long as she's been a mage, Alora has tended to use her left hand to conjure up elemental magics. It became such a habit, that when she lost her left forearm to a battle-wound, the spark came to lament the loss of the left hand. It would culminate when Alora ascends to mastery of Defiance magic, as a phantasmal forearm and hand comes to extends from her charred stump. It has the glow of fire when she is not channelling ether from it, though it radiates no light. It cannot be used to grip weapons, shields, or tools, but doesn't phase through clothing and so she may wear sleeves and armor over it.

It is only through this phantom appendage that she can access the ability of refinement or the melding of elements to create compound effects. It's control over such refinements are far more potent and powerful, yet limited in range. She may not use refinements in ranged applications, but only when touching, grasping or striking with her hand. These refinements always take on the shape of her forearm and hand when manifesting.

Otherwise, this phantasmal appendage works as an arcane focus for Alora.
