Portal mouth

When consuming food, Abra's mouth automatically turns into a portal in which he can put food that will be transported into his stomach. He cannot eat like a normal person anymore. The portal only leads into Abra’s stomach and anything can conceivably go in so long as it fits and doesn’t disrupt the edges of the portal.

The mouth only opens up a portal when it intends to eat food so someone hoping to put something harmful through the portal would have to do more than merely open his mouth. The mutation’s survival function is to make a sound to announce that Abra is about to consume his meal. This is no different from a cat meowing while eating its food to deter other animals from approaching.
