Process for Becoming an Immortal
Contents
Process for PCs doing this.
- This is not something you can apply for - it is done on mod discretion. If it is something you would be interested in, then you may make a “declaration of interest” in the PSF, but please be clear that doing this does not infer any guarantees.
- There are no requirements to meet in terms of numbers of posts or general skill / power levels. There is no arbitrary timeframe of how long you’ve been on site which you must meet. This is entirely story driven.
- If a moderator feels that a plot might end up with a pc ascending to Immortal status then they must immediately approach the TLs with all details. There will then be a group discussion between TL and mod.
- Any TL whose pc is involved in the plot will not be part of the discussions. At least 2 TLs must agree with the plot.
- There is no “formula” for how this happens. It will be story driven - the only stipulation is that it must be epic.
- This is the process for how “mortal” pcs might ascend. The gaining of Immortal status is also possible for a Mortalborn or Immortal Champion. These are different processes.
Rules for pcs achieving this:
- No avatar (eg: There is only ever 1 body)
- Skills remain, capstones remain. These can (and should) continue to be developed.
- Purged of all blessings and curses, can never acquire more
- Purged of all magics, can never acquire more.
- Gets an Emean Domain that must be built via multiple threads (plot approved via PSF). This will be done in a story which is unique and appropriate to the player / story.
- Gets one domain. This domain can NOT be shared by any Immortal OR Mortalborn.
- Can still be killed
- although they are now immune to poison and will not catch diseases etc. If the pc had any points in the resistance skill these may be reassigned to another skill.
- The Immortal will not age under any circumstances.
- Upon death, there is no ghost or afterlife, they are gone completely.
- A Major Fracture produced at the location of death.
- As the PC progresses through the development of their mark, they rely less and less on biological processes of mortality. At the end of Favored, the need for food is almost entirely gone, and will be completely negated by Adored ability 3. Sleep follows a similar pattern.
- Initially, the pc is very fixed in their ‘mortal’ appearance. They start to be able to shift that as they develop their Immortality. This is a natural progression with minor changes being created by the PC as they develop their Immortal Mark. At each point of progression, their appearance can change more. * These markers of progression are as such: Unlocking a new domain, creating a new rank of mark, creating the Emea Domain, and creating a Mortalborn. Upon completing one of these progressions, the PC may apply to the PSF for an appearance change.
- The process of Immortal teleportation - to be confirmed (not available until at least Adored)
The Immortal Mark
- It is possible to develop their mark but it will be done via story. Thus, each ability must be quested for (each plot needs approval in the PSF as does each ability)
- The pc remains having 1 domain and 2 personal abilities (mb-esque) until they have completed the stories for all the Favored abilities at that point, they quest for their second domain (again, PSF approved)
- Upon receiving their second Domain, the pc can put forward 2 more abilities to the PSF.
- The pc then quests for the Adored abilities in their mark, following the same process, and so on.
- This is obviously very new to us - and we might edit in stuff as we realise we forgot it!
- Once the PC has developed their mark and is able to give it to others - there is a responsibility on the player to ensure that they deal with mark requests in a timely manner.
- If the player becomes inactive, after 3 months we will NPC the Immortal and give out blessings etc via the PSF.
Rules on giving marks/abilities
- Here on Standing Trials, we don’t want to limit PCs stories unnecessarily. Therefore, we are not imposing a hard limit on the number of marks / abilities which can be given out. However, there should be a balance maintained, and therefore we will monitor the number of marks given - these must be recorded in the CS of the Immortal PC.
- The various marks must be given IC. Abilities can be awarded remotely.
- The Immortal PC must have unlocked/created the appropriate marks and abilities BEFORE they can be awarded to others.
- The process for the awarding of marks is (roughly) the same as for all. Both PCs involved will post in the PSF (in one ticket) - this will allow us to update the wiki and will ensure that we have a track on marks being given.
Creation of a Mortalborn
- The Immortal MUST have unlocked and built their Emean Domain before they can create a Mortalborn.
- The Immortal MUST have built the new Mortalborn’s Emean Domain within their own Emean Domain before they can create a mortalborn.
- The Domains and Abilities of the new mortalborn must be approved via the PSF before they can be created.
- Children produced prior to ascension cannot become Mortalborn after the fact.
OOC Rules:
- If a player of a PC Immortal goes inactive - after 3 months we WILL NPC the Immortal. This will mean that staff give out blessings etc - this is non-negotiable.
- This opportunity is not open to players with disciplinary issues / warnings active on their account.
