One trial Varlum would notice a large Thiussium Ithecal female, extremely attractive by their own standards, always seeming to be nearby. She never approached him though, and any attempt to approach her led to her making a subtle, but often clever, retreat. She kept this up for an entire season. That is, until a human man approached Varlum on trial, first asking to purchase a custom made helmet. Over the course of ten trials, the man continued to purchase custom made equipment from the smith. Meanwhile, the Ithecal woman could now be seen wielding vicious bone crafted weaponry and leather armors, as if anticipating a fight soon. Finally, one day, the human man asks Varlum where he came from, and regardless of the answer given, told the smith that he was investigating some murders of humans in Ne'haer from a while back. He told Varlum to not be leaving town anytime soon while he continued to gather the evidence. Meanwhile, the woman's presence grew and grew until it would be more strange for him to not see her anytime he left work or home. And now, there was something in her eyes akin to hunger. Was it for him to try and run so she could cut him down? Or something a bit more... carnal?

Vaera was a bold and dangerous woman on the battlefield, spreading fear through any that watched her fight. What scared many more than her ability with a sword was her willingness to do whatever it took to win a battle. That was what caught Faldrun's attention. When a village had been defeated and taken over, housing criminals and refusing to hand them over to the military. Once they had arrested the criminals and the villagers housing them Vaera looked over the small town. All through it were small shrines to many Immortals, missing some of the darker like Aelig, Syroa, Lisirra and Faldrun. As a statement against her enemies she gave the order to burn it down, lighting the town hall herself. It wasn't the first or last time she would burn down a town, but this was the one that caught Faldrun's attention. This town, Halegrove, was one of many to be taken down by the Bastards.
Working for Ne'haer's military, the woman was a proud soldier in the army, working as a part of the Bastards Division of the Embersteel Company. Their job consisted of maximum damage. For most of her career as a soldier the young woman fought against bandits or any villagers that had gone against the government. While it was rare she fought in bigger battles, the woman had two encounters with bandits that travelled in much larger groups and one with a mass of savages that resided in the Wilderness.
During the time that Vaera had been at war she had an admirer, a man that she met with more than once and found herself falling for as more than just close friends. However, the two had grown distant with a bitterness, so while their encounters continued they often ended sourly. It gave Faldrun a cover of some kind, but first he had to watch the woman, to ensure that she was perhaps worth his time. But after viewing from the side for a while he found that the woman had more than just a small affinity to fire. Every battle ended with flames and fire devouring whatever was left when she was done. Perhaps, the Immortal considered, a son of a woman like this would be equally destructive and dangerous.
When the woman found herself bearing a child, Faldrun waited patiently and watched. Three eggs were laid and, at once, Faldrun picked one - Varlum. Converting the Ithecal's blood to a mix of his own, Faldrun ensured that Varlum was the only to survive. Because of the fire Immortal's blood in him Varlum's egg was always well heated, even in bitter cold conditions. Soon enough, Varlum was born, believed to be the child of two Ithecal that would marry soon after - yet out of that egg came a Faldrunborn.

Soul of Dragons Ability
Reaching in to the Remnants of his soul, Varlum can envelop himself in a dangerous silhouette. Smouldering, spiritual scales coat his body with giant wings spreading across his back. Dangerously sharp claws cover his own. When this form is activated Varlum can fly, use the weapons and deal generally more damage. Varlum’s wings can carry his weight and extra weight with it, enough to carry a natural or equipped armour and a single weapon should he choose to. As these are spiritual in appearance none of them can take damage on his behalf, leaving Varlum entirely vulnerably during the duration of it. As well as the ability to fly Varlum’s claws are able to cut through sharper substances than whatever damage they would have done before but do not possess any buffs to his physical ability, striking with whatever Strength Varlum can muster. After the Break duration of the ability Varlum’s entire body is sore, each hit he takes hurting twice as much as it normally would. This effect will not pass for the following Break and can only be used once per trial. Anything that could otherwise harm Spirits, Magic and Divine power will be able to damage and hurt the wings, making them useless if the damage grows too high.

Towering Beast Ability
Anger and hatred burns deep inside him, remnants of his fathers heritage. All of this takes a new form for the Ithecal and brings him in to a transformation. As the tallest of his race, Varlum has always been used to looking down on others physically. However, this is only part of his natural heritage. Able to grow to double his height, Varlum is able to become a fierce giant.. None of his weapons or clothes grow with him, any items left behind where he transformed or torn apart if he is wearing them. This power lasts for one Break but can be cancelled at any time. Once this power is done Varlum will find himself weaker than he has ever been before, barely conscious and unable to move. No type of buffing can undo this, leaving the Ithecal vulnerable for two breaks. Once these two breaks are over he returns to normal, though a numb pain runs through him for another two breaks to follow. This can be used once every two trials and is an ability that can cost him massively, especially in a battle. Activating this transformation will take three trills.
During this form, however, Varlum finds his hunger growing exponentially. Should Varlum give in to the hunger and feast on living beings his Drawback will be reduced, starting with the two Breaks of numb pain before beginning to remove the Paralysis.
Ferocity

Dragon's Cry Ability
Inside Varlum is the burning ferocity of a Dragon. One way this is embodied is through viciousness deep inside of him, pulling at his soul to bring out a roar of immense power. As well as boosting the range that the roar can be heard to two miles, similar to that of a tiger. With this power comes an intimidation, boosted by the Intimidation skill. While this can be resisted by discipline or meditation equal to or higher than Varlum’s intimidation, there will always be a level of fear that it brings from the sheer power of the roar. However, this will impact all around him, making his own allies potentially fearful of him even after the fight. As well as this, any who deem Varlum a threat become more inclined to attack, targeting Varlum over any other enemy they come across.
Magic and Mutations
Varlum is initiated into Defiance and Hone.
