Melrath Faction Rank/Reward Guide

Faction Ranking Up:

In order to climb the ranks of your faction you need to write threads where you are performing the duties of your role. This system is very open ended and allows for you to claim points for any thread where you are doing something for the faction. For an Aesir this could mean convening with spirits, treating a patient, or researching new knowledge. For a Ragnari member this could mean going on a mission or fighting off invaders. Lastly for the Ydalir Ranger your work could involve patrolling the wilds or helping a Melrathi citizen in danger on the road. This also includes collaborative threads with non faction members as well as modded seasonal threads. The more impactful or risk involved in the thread the more points you will gain.

Threads submitted will be graded on a 2-10 point scale: The majority of threads will likely fall along the 4-6 point level.

Explanation of Points

10 points: At this level your character will be engaging in very high risk for injury and death. More risk, more points.

8 points: This sort of thread will involve a high amount of risk for your character. Injury is highly likely.

6 points: This will be a thread that involves a moderate amount of risk to your character.

4 points: A slightly more challenging task where your character is forced to think on their feet a bit.

2 points: A simple thread where you are fulfilling your basic duties.

Note: Please be advised that low ranking faction members will likely be assigned lower point value missions and assignments at first. Keep this in mind when your character goes on these missions that you set for them. High value assignments or situations can and will happen but they will be rare. The higher you go in the ranks however, the more often you will be facing life threatening assignments, and less of the low value ones. It will not be tolerated for a high ranking faction member to simply grind out low point value threads and taking on low risk. You will be expected to take on much more difficult assignments and tasks the more you rise in the ranks.

Extra Collaborative Points!:

As a reward for engaging in faction related threads with other players you will be rewarded an extra two points for each additional player in the thread. This does not apply to moderated events. There is a six point cap per thread for the possible collab points that you may claim.

Rewards:

Upon reaching a new rank you will be rewarded with a unique item, armor/weapons, or even something as special as a diri familiar. Players are allowed to come up with their rewards at each new rank and submit their requests to the claim thread. The type and rarity of the rewards is limited to the level of your rank.

Rare Rewards: It is possible at this level of rewards for you to request very unique items with special effects. You may create an item or weapon with an ability that is as powerful as a Favored Mark ability. Please write up a description of this ability in detail and submit it for review here. It is also possible to request a new spirit Diri familiar. You must write up a description of the spirit familiar which includes their appearance along with their personality

Exotic Rewards: Similar to the Common rewards, these are not magical, nor do they have special effects, however these rewards can be of masterwork quality. Requested mounts can also now be winged or aquatic if you so choose. If you would like something not listed here please feel free to request it anyways and you will be contacted by a local moderator to work out the details.

Common Rewards: This can include something like a full set of (Good Quality) armor/clothing or two weapons. You can also request a land mount, pet, or tools/supplies. These rewards are not meant to be too elaborate but are meant to be something that will help you in your role. If you are requesting tools or supplies you may select multiple kits or half a dozen items from the shoppe. If you would like something not listed here please feel free to request it anyways and you will be contacted by a local moderator to work out the details.
