Business NPC

Business NPC are specifically for players who own and run a business, these might include farmhands, shopkeepers, barmaids, or anyone your character might hire to get the job done. Business NPC must be applied for with the business and are either created on startup, or afterwards. If you are adding a new NPC to your business, then please apply via the Prophet Support Forum.

Rules for playing a Business NPC

• I. The NPC must remain within the business setting.
• II. The NPC cannot give your PC anything (unless you pay for it).
• III. The NPC cannot teach your PC anything.
• IV. The NPC cannot usually have any Domain Magic. If there is an extenuating reason for this, it will be discussed in the PSF. Even if that is the case, you can NOT use this NPCs magic in any way other than the day-to-day running of the business.
• V. The NPC should never be the main focus of the story.

How Many?

There are no limits to the number of NPCs you might have within a business. However, as a rough guide, you should look at the size of the business and consider what is reasonable. Remember that we are focused on story here so make sure that you are doing what makes sense.

Up to 100 skill points, no more than 30 and no less than 5 in one skill. NPC skills are always on a 1:1 ratio and, therefore, out of 100.

Improving NPC Skills

If you use a business NPC in 2 threads in any given season, then you may apply (usually in your city, although can be done via PSF) and claim 10 XP for that NPC. You need to provide the link to the threads where the NPC is used and the skill you wish to improve.
