Noatun
Noatun Village
Founded in Arc 530, Noatun Village is a quaint little fishing hamlet located on the central eastern shore of Melrath. The village has around 2,500 inhabitants, some of which prefer isolation and reside in huts along the northern coast above the village. The architecture of Noatun is simple, consisting of wooden longhouses made from sturdy logs and roofs made from thatch. Most of the local's effort's are spent investing in the craft of boat building and the task of fishing.
The people of Noatun are famously known as excellent navigators of the seas especially throughout Felwind Strait. They are also famed for crafting longboats and rowboats that are incredibly adept at navigating strong currents and treacherous waters.
The majority of the town serve as fishermen, and spend much of their time in the open sea beyond the barrier islands. Noatun is responsible for providing the majority of Melrath with its seafood.
Within the village there is a large central longhouse that serves as the meeting hall where residents deliberate on local problems and trade agreements with other settlements across Melrath. Life in this place is plagued with gray skies and frequent rains that blow in from the ocean however the people of Noatun are famed for their village feasts held on the last day of each season to celebrate their good fortune and the bounty that the sea provides.
