Appearance: Samuel, or “Sam” as he is known to his friends is a large hulk of a man. Standing at nearly seven feet tall, he is more often than not the tallest person in a room. This often leads Sam to sticking out like a sore thumb, not that he seems to mind. The man does little to appeal to the other nobles of Melrath, dressing in furs and sensible leather armor rather than in silken cloaks and sashes that the others indulge in.

Sam has deep amber brown eyes that rest beneath a pair of thick brows. He cares little about personal grooming, except maybe trimming his bead at least once every few trials. Thankfully the extra facial hair does help cover up a large old scar that has permanently marred his face. As a youth he was attacked by a female Grendel and has born the scars from that trial ever since. No amount of healing or medicine has ever caused the marks to diminish.

Personality: Many consider Samuel to be something of a wallflower when forced to attend social gatherings. The Jarl of House Namdalen much prefers the open Wilds of Melrath to the stifling perfumed air of a Raelian ball. He can seem outwardly gruff and even rude to people who do not know him well, or other nobles; however at his core Sam is actually quite a kind and patient man. He is known for taking street children into his homestead in the mountains and giving them a home, and also for caring for the welfare of the wildlife in Melrath. Of all the noble houses, his has the closest ties to the Ydalir Rangers. More than a few of his cousins have joined the faction as a way to help contribute to the House name.
