This is often the first decision you'll make regarding your new PC. What race you want to play will be an incredibly important decision, so before you choose, we'd advise the following.

Put the Races In Context

The history of Idalos is vast and each race has their own story. Some of them were created by the powerful Immortals and we would very strongly suggest that you read the history of Idalos to put those races in context.

Know the Rules & Restrictions

If you plan on playing a Mixed Race character, make sure that you have specified the two parent races and that you are clear on both your Fast Track Skill and Racial Bonus. You should be clear on all the Rules on Mixed Races while choosing your race, so that your next step is easier.

There are also restrictions on playing a Mortalborn, the most obvious of which is that you must have been an active community member for six months. If you want to know if you meet the criteria to play one, check out the Rules on Mortalborn.
